Get Ready for Batography: The Free Photography Platformer Game
Batography is a unique and cozy photography platformer game coming to Linux, Mac, as well as Windows PC. Thanks to SporkTank for bringing their creative magic to life. Due to make its debut on Steam. Melbourne’s SporkTank is about to drop something pretty special for all the platformer fans. Their new photography platformer Batography is landing on Steam right in time for the Lunar New Year — January 29th. And it’s a completely free. In Batography, you step into the wings of a curious little bat who’s on a mission to snap the ultimate photo of the moon. Sounds simple? Not so fast. You’ll need to run, climb, glide, and of course, click that camera at just the right moment. Along the way, expect to bump into a bunch of quirky neighborhood characters who bring a little sass to your moon-chasing adventure. Here’s the best part — SporkTank is basically one guy, Martin Stradling, who made Batography as a side project. His reason? He wanted to get his younger cousins involved in development. How wholesome is that? While Martin was deep in the trenches working on his main project, Rita (which, by the way, got selected for the PAX Aus Indie Showcase), he thought, why not make something fun and light for the whole family?
Batography - OFFICIAL TRAILER
“While working on Rita, I thought it would be nice to actually get a project made with family up on Steam,” Martin shared. “So here it is, a beautiful little side-scroller with sassy characters and some hidden extras. I hope you enjoy!” Batography isn’t trying to be some massive, sprawling game that eats up your weekends. It’s a short and sweet experience, the kind of game you fire up when you want something fun and lighthearted. But don’t let that fool you — there are a few sneaky challenges hiding in there for the explorers at heart. Oh, and the best part? It’s dropping on all the major platforms — Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. So you're due to have native support on day-one. Mark your calendars for January 29 and keep an eye out for Batography on Steam. Whether you’re in it for the cute bat, the moon photography, or just want to see what Martin and his cousins cooked up in this platformer, it’s worth checking out. Plus, it’s also free. So you really can’t go wrong. Coming to Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Time to channel your inner bat photographer and snap that moonshot!
