Shootin' Some Clay
Just went with my dad, sister, and sister's boyfriend to shoot some shotguns at a local sporting clay area. We rented some shotguns and brought our own ammo and went to this 3-tier podium thing (12321 kind of setup) to shoot. I am pretty good at eye-hand coordination things, so I picked it up pretty quickly. By my first round, I shot 20 out of 30 disks, which apparently is pretty damn good for a first time.
Basically, you're sitting on this stand at different levels, aim your shotgun, and yell pull. Someone presses a button and a clay disk goes flying in the air in a random direction, and you have to shoot at it. I shot a 12-gauge, which has some quick to it but wasn't too bad. You really have to aim the bead on the sights well at the target if it's moving away straight away from you or in front of the target if it's a bit to the side.
I had some awesome shots, and my style involved tracking the clay with the gun and letting it fly a bit till shooting it as opposed to shooting it quick out of the air like most do. It was fun as fuck and definitely want to go again.
And now...I am just procrastinating going on this long run. It just seems so daunting and like a lot of work. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck
