When you run into that person you grew up fencing with but randomly quit without saying anything
When you have a meet today but a final tomorrow
If you have to claim that the athletes YOU drafted and YOU continue to keep are running your team like prisoners in a jail then you’ve got something racist and wrong especially when your league has a large number of BIPOC people.
I think we should create a support group for all of us playing in teams that speak our second/third/fourth language. All of us who nodded without knowing what our teammate just told us. All of us who were rude by mistake and only realised it one minute later. All of us who sometimes don't understand the coach's instructions, so we look at what the others do and then fake it till we make it. All of us who yell directions on the court - in the wrong language. Fernando Torres can be our lord and savior. It'll get easier.
I hope.
At least my boys synchronised their collapses today 🙃
Sometimes you just want both teams to loose.
Just a Vent, Whatever
It’s so sad--I love the fall, and I feel so connected to it and I wanted to do something for it this year, but my life is so consumed by field hockey that I have almost no time to do anything for it. :/ It’s like, sometimes I enjoy it, though I feel like the joy is slowly slipping away, but I feel like I have to put the rest of my life on pause for this one thing, since both my time and energy is so consumed by it.
What makes it worse is that I can tell my mental health is affecting me with this, but despite being a guidance counselor (which she mentions almost. every. single. day. to. make. us. feel. bad. for. her.), my coach doesn’t even seem to try anything, even though I told her about my anxiety already.
I don’t know, I just want this season to be over. Most of the time, I get angry at people who complain about the things they chose to be in, but this year I’m just so done with it.
