I have a lot of respect for some German sports commentators, especially the ones for alpine ski who were outraged that the international broadcast didn't cut the microphone after Lindsey Vonn's fall and kept cutting back to her screaming in pain, and the ones in luge who were annoyed that the camera stayed on a Canadian luger who had a bad run and was understandably upset, because her life's dream crashing to the ground shouldn't be made into a spectacle

but the commentator for big air (ski and snowboard) is just... so bad????? I don't even know his name, I'm just assuming it's the same guy because he's just saying so many things that are wrong (number of runs and thus when the medals are set, goofy vs regular, literally basic factual information)

I know NOTHING about those sports and even I understand enough after a few minutes to pick up on how many mistakes he's making, I can't imagine how many I'm not picking up on that have fans of those sports absolutely raging

did they just pick some random sports commentator on their payroll who knows nothing about those sports and say "here's big air snowboard and ski 101, learn it until the olympics, you're commentating it" ????????
