Ive been transferring my music to physical copies recently. Mostly buying cds from smaller artists and burning bigger bands onto blanks. Its so special to me to be able to listen to music the way the artist intended. I hear the transitions from song to song and the parallels and its so beautiful. I think the best thing is not feeling anxiety at the end of a song. When i listen to music on spotify i listen for the end of the song, and i feel this spike of anxiety followed immediately by either anger and this wretched other feeling in my throat i cant quite name or! sometimes, if im lucky, the anxiety is followed by relief. Its so peaceful listening to my music with no anxiety clawing its way into my brian to make me think about capitalism and the state of the world. I love music and its vibrations. I love the pretty designs and pictures on my cds. I love my favorite artist singing to me in my room while i drift off to sleep. I love my lyric booklets and ignoring the wrong lyrics because if i just sing nonsense loud enough those lyrics become correct. I love the voice of a whiny white boy which i adore filling up my ears while i relax. I love physical. As a gen z, ive always used spotify or youtube since i listened to music on my own. This truly is unparalleled. Unbeatable. This is grand. i will never go back.
