Hi, I wanted to know what is your favourite Haikyuu stage play out of all the ones you've watched so far?

This is a super tough question, but after much time and deliberation, I have to go with the Revival.  Not to say that it’s the best of the four, but it’s my favorite in that it’s the one I would choose to rewatch more than the other ones.  

Seeing Winners and Losers live was amazing and it’s a beautifully crafted show, but that match is super painful to watch, and the ending makes me SUPER sad so it’s not one that I would just rewatch willy nilly, ya feel?  I’d have to be in the mood to cry.  At least to watch it all the way through to the end.  

The first two shows of course have their charm, and between the shoen and the saien, I’ve rewatched the saien more times.  Mostly because everyone has a deeper grasp and understanding of their characters the second time around and there are added nuances in everyone’s performances that appear in the saien.

But the Revival has its moments where it pulls your heartstrings, it has SO many moments that make you laugh, and it gives a lot more spread-out attention.  Since it’s about Karasuno coming together as a team finally, it’s a little less overtly focused on a couple of people like Hinata and Kageyama or on the setters (like in Winners and Losers).  The cinematic attention is more spread out between all the players.  I always enjoy that personally, but I know some people like a slightly more directed storyline.  Plus the Revival has such fun projections and they did such hilarious stage antics/effects, I just enjoy it more.  Winners and Losers projections are amazing too, don’t get me wrong, but they did more this time with sound and lights, and they did in fact tone down the projections a little.  The ones that were in there were beautiful though, and very well themed.

1. Why do you watch/read haikyuu?

I started watching because I found Kenma and Asahi cute, then I got drowned in volleyball hell. Started reading the manga around the time the anime was at Seijou’s match in the tournament, in season 1. Keeping on reading because they’RE ALL MY BABIES AND I need to see how they go

2. How do you participate in the fandom?

Mostly by reblogging stuff :’D Sometimes I manage to write fics, sometimes I throw in some angsty post, and sometimes a few headcanons.

3. What are some things you don’t like about the anime/manga, or wish you could change?

Uuuuh. I’d say most of my complaints go to the anime? It’s often the reason characters get portrayed as one or two of their traits, instead of the whole set of traits they have?? I don’t know how to explain, but yeah. Also it somehow never feels “as much” as in the manga?? Like, when Iwaizumi cried, I remember being half-sobbing when reading the manga, while watching the anime I was like “welp, he be cryin’” 

4. Who was your first bias and who is your current bias?


First after starting Haikyuu, was Kageyama (and still kind of is, I mean, it’s hard to hate such a cute guy?? And so relatable. I feel u on the lack of social skills, Kags) Current is Daichi; though as I keep saying, he’s kind of ex-aequo with Makki, Yahaba, Iwaizumi and Bokuto :’)

5. Whose character background would you like to know more of?

Any of the Fukuroudani babes tbh 

6. Who’s the most underappreciated character in your opinion? (Note: underappreciated is not the same as unpopular)

To be honest? Basically everyone, except the “Pretty Setter Squad” (not the exhaustive one, the “first one”, where only Suga, Oikawa and Akaashi are usually counted). But then again, those three are also often mischaracterized so maybe I’m just being bitter again?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

7. What does your dream team look like?

I have no idea but I’d probably end up with like most of the captains in it somehow

8. Which team has the best strategy?

Hmmm, I cant really tell orz I’d say maybe Wakutani? idk omg 

9. Which school would you join?


Welp, probably Karasuno or Fukurodani? The others seem a bit “too much” for me idk

10. Coach swap: Who do you want to see coaching which team?

You know what would be fun? Nohebi’s coach with Shiratorizawa. Their coach looks like he’s all overdramatic and all, with lots of enthusiasm?? With Shiratorizawa’s usual blank faces/deadpans, it’d be hilarious. The too-enthusiastic-coach with the not-that-enthusiastic-looking-team

11. Which episode/chapter had the biggest impact on you?
 

Uh. No actual idea :’) Well, I guess chapter 149 is the one that touches me the most but it’s solely on a character-wise way??? I mean. Daichi.

12. Which was the funniest moment?


90% of Haikyuu is the funniest moment

13. What other sports series do you watch/read?

I don’t watch/read any and I’m not sure I will?? Time will tell us  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really? I think they’re pretty common when Easter arrives, here :’D (along with bunnies, of course) But it’s the first time I actually got one; I feel so bad for having destroyed it xD

Character ask thing: Ennoshitaaaaaaaaaa

Yay! Thank you for asking! \o/

How I feel about this character: I have this special place in my heart just for Ennoshita. I think he’s hilarious. He and Suga are the type to sweetly deliver the most savage of lines with a perfect poker face, and that’s beautiful. And then there’s the whole thing with that time he left the club… at some point, I realized that feeling of “please don’t give me responsibilities, because I will inevitably fuck up” that I think we all get sometimes is something Ennoshita is probably very familiar with… thinking about it made my heart ache (so I wrote 15k about it) and I fell in love with him. He’s my precious fluff ball. Ennoshita for cap 2k16

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I don’t actually ship him romantically with anyone. If I really had to pick someone, I’d probably go with Kiyoko-san. (Ennoshita would be the serious kouhai with a crush, who never confesses. Tell me that isn’t adorable. A little sad, but adorable. Right? C’mon.)

My non-romantic OTP for this character: KINOSHITA. KINOSHITA ALL THE WAY.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t think I have one…

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I’d say “becoming captain”, but I’m pretty sure that’s going to happen already so I’m not going to say that. I am, however, eagerly awaiting Daichi-san’s speech when he finally talks to Ennoshita about being captain.

I also wouldn’t mind some Great Moment of Badass Awesome from Ennoshita in the near future. Last time he replaced Daichi-san on the court, he was still nervous, still finding his footing, still unsure. I want him to get angry at the opponent and strut onto that court like he owns it.

I’d also absolutely love it if he worked on his attacks and became a more powerful wing spiker  Prioritizing defense is… well, logical, I suppose, since that is Karasuno’s biggest flaw and also something Ennoshita himself needs to work on, but. I want to see Ennoshita fly, you know?

I NEED more of that Bokudai headcanons where Bokuto is the morning person and Daichi fucking hates morning. pLeassssssseeeeeeeeeeee

Koutarou loves mornings and he loves Daichi. Daichi loves Koutarou and... not so much mornings.

The one thing that makes Daichi sometimes regret agreeing on taking a flat with Koutarou for their college years, even though they had only been dating for a few months at that time, is Koutarou’s early bird nature. Fukurodani’s former captain basically wakes up with the sun. Which is, fucking early in the morning. And he still manages to have a lot of energy no matter how much or how few hours he has slept. (Daichi suspects he actually does work on solar energy)

Koutarou’s mornings are always the same: he wakes up, stretches (kicking Daichi who remains sound asleep) then gets up to go to the bathroom. Then he eats breakfast and goes check on their lovely plants who are sunbathing at the window.

Then comes Daichi’s least favourite part. Koutarou comes to their room, opens the curtains wide and well, making the room as bright as possible, and opens the windows to let the morning breeze freshen the air. Then, because it’s Bokuto Koutarou we’re talking about, he turns to the bed where the bundle of blankets is still sleeping and inhales. And Daichi’s sleep is definitely ruined.

“GOOD MORNING, DAICHI!!” Koutarou shouts, with all the joy he’s capable of (and that makes a lot of it).

There’s a grumble somewhere under the blankets but it doesn’t change anything in Koutarou’s mood. Instead, he walks to the bed and lets himself fall on it. There are more grumbles coming and some movement. He hugs Daichi through the blankets. Daichi finally manages to get his head out of the warmth of the covers.

“’s too ‘rly”

“It’s not even that early, Dai! C’mon, I wanna go out!”

“No”

“Aw, please! It’s 9am alread-”

“IT’S ONLY 9AM AND WE’RE ON A SUNDAY MORNING KOUTAROU, PLEASE LET ME SLEEP”

“Someone’s grumpy this morning!” Koutarou chuckles as he kisses Daichi.

Daichi’s only response is to groan and still kiss him back.
