kinda tempted to use a line my spouse said today in a reddie fic somewhere.

we got a bunch of errands and housework done today, and as spouse was fixing an old lamp I’ve had for ages that I love but that hasn’t worked since before spouse and I got together (which is a long time okay we’re old and sometimes it feels like we’ve been together forever) and when they got it working they were like

“okay there. now you can stay up all night writing away on your laptop with your little writer lamp”

and of course I was just like *heart eyes* because it is in fact my dream to be a professional writer and it’s my favorite hobby and spouse was describing a perfect little snapshot of the life I very much want to live

and my spouse, seeing this was just like.

“no stop I’m making fun of you you idiot.”

Spouse has a gaming group that like, knows that spouse is queer and that spouse has a husband who is also queer, but they don’t really know the specifics?

These are to my understanding, generally good people and I’m fairly sure that if spouse did tell them specifics it wouldn’t be an issue but also spouse is very much in a position of being the only openly queer person a lot of these people know so going into specifics would lead to questions and explaining things and for the most part spouse just... doesn’t care enough to bother walking these people (several of whom are old enough to be our parents) through complex identity stuff.

And just in general spouse tends to keep the specifics of their identity relatively private bc thats kind of just who they are as a person (except when it makes for a good joke/pun).

So this group my spouse games with regularly knows some things, but not other things, and its actually a lot of fun to find out all these assumptions they’ve come up with about us, and me (who they’ve only heard about, never seen/spoken to), over the years.

Exciting thing is going to happen today and im trying really hard to let spouse sleep in but also I want them to wake up so we can do the thing.

But I don't want to wake them up I just want them to wake up on their own, conveniently when I want them to.
