Strength and courage
## Eshet Chayil aka Irene Ross I've thought about the best way to describe my wife after the birth of our third child and the heading phrase mentioned above best sums up the feeling I experienced in relation to her. What does it mean then? Eshet Chayil is a Hebrew phrase meaning "Woman of Valor" it represents courage and strength, of which she displayed(then and now) alot. For those who are into the Bible it is the phrase used in the opening of the famous(infamous?) Proverbs 31 and it is also the word used to describe Ruth in the book of the same name. In some ways my experience of this birth, 3 weeks ago, parallels that of the birth of my son, 5 years ago. In the former decisions were made that affected and muted my wife's ability to display her full strength and courage. This time around in some similar circumstances better choices were made and on display was her full measure of valor. For me it was very inspiring, love inducing and new respect finding as it relates to my wife. So to my Eshet Chayil, I love you and thank you.
