In case you missed it Spoutible has made some huge strides over the past few months in terms of features. Not only did they add a dedicated news section to the time-line but the news section can also be customized to suit your preferences by letting you filter news based on category and source.
This is arguably Spoutibles' biggest advantage over the other Twitter alternatives in that it feels like the only one that was seriously designed as a platform with news and information in mind.
