carter glared down at her phone that never seemed to pinpoint her location exactly. she found that she was pointing in the opposite direction of the town’s library but as she began to walk in the new direction, the map app told her to turn the other way. so she did so, not realizing just how foolish she must’ve looked, walking around in circles on the same sidewalk she’d been stuck on for the past five minutes. carter let out a strained exhale as she rolled her eyes, her head lolling back. “come on,” she quietly pleaded. “something just work out. i’m begging you,” she pulled her head up to find a person right in front of her, making her jump, silently cursing herself for just talking to herself in front of them. “oh god,” she let out a nervous chuckle. “sorry,” she immediately apologized.
