Okay, final follow-up, I swear. 😅 You mentioned goldens in your tags. What is their feet confo like? AFAIK they are supposed to have webbed cat-like feet. Will they be very likely to get snowballs in the winter? Thank you for indulging me!
The Golden Retriever Standard says: “medium size, round, compact, and well knuckled, with thick pads. Excess hair may be trimmed to show natural size and contour. Splayed or hare feet to be faulted” . There is a really nice illustrated standard with photos HERE (feet page 30).
and yes, because of the golden’s coat type which has quite long feathering their feet are pretty prone to snowballs. Snow would gather inbetween my dog’s toes and because of her coat type it would stick to the hair so during winter hikes you’d have to stop frequently to clear snow out of her now cold and forcefully splayed feet.
