Your mate has been a moody bastard- well, moodier than normal - which is saying something. His hand splays against the slight curve of your belly, already protecting the the babe growing there...even if it is no bigger than a Day Court lemon. You glance down at the journal balanced in his other hand, details of a long-ago battle scribbled across its pages.

He hasn't turned a page in twenty minutes.

"You might feel a little better once we tell your brothers-"

"They've probably already guessed-"

"You give them too much credit, my heart," he mumbles, shaking his head. "Rhysand is too wrapped up in his own family to see much beyond it right now-"

"That's not fair," you chide, elbowing him in the ribs. "After Feyre's last pregnancy, I can't blame him for being preoccupied with this one. And Cassian and Nesta are absorbed with establishing the new Valkyrie unit in Illyria. Of course they're not reaching out to check on us, they don't know they need to."

"They don't. You're mine to protect-"

"I am yours, you stubborn bat," you laugh, craning up to press a sweet kiss to the corner of his mouth. "But I'm theirs, too. So are you. We should tell them soon-"

"Next family dinner," he sighs, tossing his journal aside in favor of pulling you into his lap. "Let's keep this between us just a while longer. I'm not keen to share either of you just yet."

"I can tell," you laugh as you drape your arms over his broad shoulders. "My silly, stubborn male."

"All yours," Azriel agrees, resting his head on your shoulder. If he keeps talking like this, there'll be five more babies where this one's coming from.

"He's strong," Rhys whispers, wiggling the finger trapped in his heir's tiny hand. The babe suckles eagerly at your breast, still red and angry after his early debut. Azriel cranes impatiently over the High Lord's shoulder, eager to set eyes on the newest addition to your little family. To see for himself that you're both safe and well. Cassian beat him to the space at your other side, his large hand resting on the baby's back beneath his little wings.

"He certainly is," you agree, your head drooping against Cassian's shoulder.

"What can I get you, love?" Azriel asks, placing a hand on your leg. You give him a tired smile, shaking your head as your eyes drift back to the babe.

"Nothing, darling. We're both fine. Someone should probably break the news to Mor, though. It's about time the rest of the territory finds out we have a new little prince."

Waking up slowly is always the goal – especially the days we have Azriel with us. Sweet, buttery light streams in through the open balcony, the scents of flowers from the gardens below drifting in on the breeze. Everything is warm and lovely, except for the side of the bed our lover usually occupies.

The sheet is cold beneath my palm when I reach for him. Stretching, I open my eyes to see him out on the balcony, slowly going through a warm-up of his own in only the thin trousers he wears to bed...when he wears anything at all.

He looks incredible, his broad, tan shoulders back as his chest opens towards the sun. He might insist he's made for shadows and darkness, but I think he's a creature of the sun. Seeing how he opens for it, how it bronzes his beautiful skin, how could he be anything but?

Even his shadows have stayed indoors, content to drape themselves along the mattress at my side. A few of them stretch out over my hip atop the blankets like long, lazy cats. Funny little creatures.

Helion's arm winds around my waist as he wakes. His mouth is warm against my shoulder, pressing lazy kisses there until he sits up to see what I'm looking at. His reaction is immediate and, to be fair, is very similar to mine. I grin as he hardens against my spine, watching our shadowsinger lower himself into a pose that would be cobra-like, if not for the wings spread out on either side of him.

That just makes him look a little like a buzzard.

A very sexy, very distracting buzzard.

"Keep me warm while we wait?" My husband asks, nipping at the shell of my ear as his hand drifts beneath the blanket to grab my thigh.

"I could never deny myself the pleasure," I murmur slyly, letting him hitch my leg back over his. He buries himself inside of me in one fluid motion, my body so accustomed to his that I don't even notice the stretch. Instead, I relax at the familiar weight of him against me and settle back against the pillow.

Shadows tug at the blankets, roused from their morning nap, and seemingly eager to play. Helion's hands wander my body in slow caresses designed to stoke my interest without fanning it too much. At least, not yet. We have quite the show to watch. And our shadowsinger is smiling.

Helion's meddling has, perhaps, extended a bit too far this time. Though you'd frequently ranted to your friend about your inability to bring your lovers to agree to some kind of truce, at least where you were concerned, you hadn't imagined he'd actually try to do something about it. Adjoining rooms would have been one thing...but giving you one room? One bed? After a long night of drinking and dancing?

Yikes.

"Oh, fuck this," Azriel mutters, shaking his head as he surveys the room. Not a sofa or lounge in sight. Just the smallest possible room with a bed just big enough for the three of you.

"Yes, bat, scurry off back to your master," Eris drawls, lounging on the side of the bed closest to the windows. "Or I do believe the balcony is free if you prefer to roost outdoors."

"Down boy," you murmur, cutting your eyes at the Autumn lord, whose only reply is a sharp, cruel smile. The Night Court's Spymaster hovers at your back, dark shadows sliding over your skin as you assess the situation. "Our options are rather limited, it's true, but I don't see any reason you can't share for one night."

"And wake up with a knife in my ribs?" Azriel asks wryly.

"Bold of you to assume you'll wake, Shadowsinger."

"Boys, boys, boys," you chide, opening the clasps at the shoulders of your gown, the golden metal all that's keeping the thin fabric in place. "If you wish to bicker like beasts, I can send for pillows large enough to hold each of you on the floor tonight."

Eris's smoldering gaze follows the fabric as it pools on the floor at your feet. You turn sleepy eyes up to Azriel, who drinks in the sight of your body, his shoulders tense with anticipation. You back towards the bed, motioning for him to follow you across that cold, marble floor and settle at your side on that plush, inviting mattress.

You shift to the center of the mattress, and Eris traces a finger along your thigh, leaving a trail of flames dancing in its wake. The fire doesn't burn, you don't even feel it, but you hear Azriel's breath catch in his throat and wave away the fire all the same.

"Or?" Eris asks, frowning as smoke rises from your skin.

"Or you can spend the night showing each other why you both fuck like gods," you shrug, stretching your arms over your head. "I'm happy to be at the center of that sort of friendly competition."

Gentle, golden light dances along the surface of the heated tub as I slip in, a shield against the cold night air. Azriel's dark wings drape over the side of the tub, his head thrown back as Helion peppers soft kisses along the column of his neck. They make the loveliest picture, I almost don't want to interrupt them.

Almost.

Azriel's eyes flutter open as his shadows swirl over the water to meet me. His full lips stretch into a lazy smile as he reaches out a hand to me. I take it, laughing as he pulls me into his lap, settling me between them.

"Generous of our lady to grace us with her presence," Helion murmurs, greeting me with a long, slow kiss as I lean my head against our lover's shoulder. Stars twinkle overhead as his kisses drift lower. His thumbs trace slow circles over the tops of my thighs as Azriel's hands settle at my waist.

"Took her long enough," Azriel agrees, nuzzling the top of my head.

"Sorry," I murmur, tangling my fingers in Helion's hair, "I was worn out by a particularly enthusiastic bat earlier, I needed a nap."

"Those pesky, insatiable bats," my husband agrees, and I nod earnestly, earning a warm chuckle from each of them. My loves, two halves of my heart.

"I have a confession to make," Cassian sighs from the sofa. Rhys's hand pauses in his hair as he glances down at your mate, eyebrows raised. Azriel's fingers continue to rub oil into the curve of your belly, soothing the babe shifting beneath your skin as you lounge against him in the chair.

"Oh boy," Azriel mutters, lightly kissing your temple.

"And what could you possibly have to confess, Cassian?" Rhysand's purr is sweet, almost too sweet. Cassian shifts uncomfortably, shooting a guilty look at the High Lord before he looks to you.

"What did you do, Cass?" You ask, hopefully providing a softer place to land than whatever Rhys has in store for him.

"I ate the dried fruit."

"The bag I was looking for earlier?" You laugh as Rhys pulls his hair, drawing a cat-like hiss from the famed Illyrian general.

"We knew that," Azriel grumbles, shaking his head. "That's why I brought extra."

"There's more?"

"Not for you!" Rhys flicks the end of his nose, and that wraps up their lazy evening cuddle session. "We have a pregnant female to feed-"

"Don't be a bully, Rhys. I'll share," you murmur placatingly, placing your hands over Azriel's. Relief washes over you as the babe finally settles, their heel blessedly dislodging from between your ribs in the process. This big, beautiful boy certainly takes up enough space. Too much, perhaps, to worry about who's eating your fancy dried fruit.

"We could have one, you know," Rhys says, squinting in the warm sunlight as we watch Nyx take stumbling steps across the garden, clinging to Feyre's fingers.

"What?" I ask, glancing up at him as I roll onto my back, stretching my arms over my head. He runs his hand along my side, a proprietary touch that pauses at my hip. If the boy were down for a nap, I wouldn't mind taking it a little further. The sun is warm and the shade is so, so nice. I could watch the world go by out here.

I think we deserve to.

"A mating ceremony-"

"Not this again."

"It was important to you-"

"At one time, yes, I think it was," I admit, tugging at his shirt until he leans in to kiss me. "But you're alive, you're here, and truly that's what I wanted most. My mates, with me, raising our child. What could be better than that?"

"We can give you so much more-"

"I don't need it," I huff, grabbing his chin. I kiss him just to shut him up, our lips lingering for a long moment. When I pull away, there are stars in his eyes, and he's looking at me like I put them there. "Silly male. I just need you, both of you. I am content, Rhys. We have it all."

"Ma!" Nyx squeals across the lawn, and I glance over to see Feyre whisking him off the ground, into her arms. She's smiling, her first real smile in what feels like a very long time. We really do have it all. I couldn't be more lucky.
