Sucks? I'm a sucker for a good slowburn romance.

"Sucks" was a figure of speech in that post. Everyone knows I love a good slow burn, otherwise I wouldn't have spent all those years writing Spring Flurries during the heyday of Adventure Time.

My point was that 9 and a half seasons is longer than most people are willing to stick with a show to see a romance eventually blossom. But I'm glad it happened nonetheless!

Hey guys! My first major story, the 137k word monster about Fionna and Ice Queen, is now available to read on AO3 as well!

If you haven’t heard it already before, “Spring Flurries” is an Adventure Time fanfic I started writing over 3 years ago, mostly on a whim, after seeing the first Fionna & Cake episode. Several friends and I noticed that - because Ice Queen was disguised as Prince Gumball nearly the whole time - you could interpret the episode as Ice Queen going on a date with Fionna, intentionally! (It’s more fun to interpret it that way, I think!).

So naturally, I started toying with the idea of making a long-form story about how Ice Queen would fall in love with Fionna and/or vice-versa...and I ended up just writing more and more and more and more stories, until finally I decided it was time to end it (the ending still feels a little abrupt), and that’s the story of the story!

Friends, I’ve finally done it. After three long years, this fanfic is COMPLETE. I’ve written it into a conclusion that I’m happy with, and even though there are dozens more chapters I could write about these two, it’s been long overdue that I call this one CLOSED.

Thanks to literally everyone who has kept up with this fic, I really hope you enjoyed it. To those who haven’t read it yet, give it a shot! It’s a really fun rom/com/dram ADVENTURE! I tried to write as close to the general tone of Adventure Time as possible, while still maintaining my own original voice. And I think it came out pretty hella sweet in the end.

And that’s that! One more major project in my life: DONE!

This fic has been one of the biggest/longest projects I’ve ever worked on, and I posted the first chapter OVER THREE YEARS AGO. Geez, time sure flies...anyway, I just thought you might also like to know that yes, the fic WILL be ending soon. In fact, all I have left to write is one more chapter, and it’s really more like an epilogue than a full chapter. It will be a short end to a massive story, but I think it’s the right ending I wanted all along. I’m gonna be working on that over the next few days, and then, I will finally declare this project FINISHED. I can’t even believe...

"If you think you're ready to put it on again…".

Fionna inhaled slowly and glanced up at the tiara. She could already hear the raspy whispering calling out to her, begging even, for her to snatch it off the queen's head and crown herself with it again. Her body instantly recalled the sensations of its magic, from the tips of her toes to the brain in her head. Cavorting lights, the sharp smell of winter, the electric hum of the energies in the air. The feelings were all still fresh and frightening, but at the same time, they excited and enticed her. That excitement was not entirely unlike the first time Ice Queen had kissed her...

And she exhaled, opening her eyes slowly. "Yeah, I'm ready."

Hmm...so. Writing work on my next big story, Period Piece, hasn't been going too well. Mostly it's just been a matter of me being too lazy and too tired, but either way, the story hasn't been getting written, and that makes me sad. So I've decided instead that I will focus my efforts now on finishing the last chapter-and-a-half of my long, long, LONG-running Ice Queen/Fionna fic, "Spring Flurries" instead! Better to finish SOMETHING than to just flail around on a story I seem to be blocked on, right?
