SPRING TREND ALERT: GOWNS LIKE GARDENS

Ready to sweep us off our feet, the enchanting gowns presented during the spring 2013 couture season were suitable for a modern-day princess, but one does not have to be royalty in order to fully appreciate, dream or swoon over the breathtaking garments.

For Raf Simons the floral elements represent a recurring subtext, one that he keeps on exploring with more and more determination as time goes by. From subtle interpretations, to all the more obvious renderings, nothing tops his vision of a gown, fully covered in a blossom of embroidered and floral appliques.

Emphasizing the female body in ways that still feel unrealistic, Geroges Hobeika’s idea of couture this spring had much to do with a melange of pastel colors and delicate floral appliques. Lingerie designer Zahia Dehar offered a slightly different notion of couture this season, as her models walked down the runway in dreamy ensembles and sexy silhouettes. Covered in an outbreak of colorful floral appliques and lively embellishments the mini numbers screamed fun and flirty in a totally good way.
