i'm thinking about charlotte brontë spending her last years editing and publishing her sisters' writings and about christopher tolkien dedicating his life to the protection and meticulous reconstruction his father's life's work and about johanna van gogh publishing the letters between vincent and theo that would propel vincent van gogh into fame because she knew how much her husband had loved his brother, and about how so often art isn't just a reflection of the artist's mind and skills but a testament to the fact that they were loved
“liking something in fiction doesn’t mean you condone it in real life” but instead of dark fanfiction tropes it’s about liking jeeves and wooster while being a socialist
Reading Lord of the Rings, but shaking my head so people know I don't support the divine right of kings.

The radius and ulna are among my favourite bones specifically because they do this
I hate this. I hate that they do this. I think about this every time I rotate my wrist. It seems like the sort of thing that would go wrong in all sorts of horrible ways and leave a bone sticking out of my skin. and yet it keeps happening. every day of my life.
I rotate my arms regularly just because I like it when they do this.
iiiiiii dont. think thats how bones work
Here are two videos on Reddit demonstrating how the radius bone rotates around the ulna bone: link / link
Yeah i doubt someone would make these gifs for the purpose of an online joke so I have no choice but to believe it
i have a degree is bones (bioarchaeology) this is how bones work and i hate it
I love how the way bones work make people hate the way bones work. I love this about bones.
The more I learn about human anatomy, the less I want to know.
Being in my 40s thinking about what I considered problems in my 20s really is like Obi-Wan in the desert seeing Maul again. Just wild I ever thought that could be the scariest Sith.

gosh but like we spent hundreds of years looking up at the stars and wondering “is there anybody out there” and hoping and guessing and imagining
because we as a species were so lonely and we wanted friends so bad, we wanted to meet other species and we wanted to talk to them and we wanted to learn from them and to stop being the only people in the universe
and we started realizing that things were maybe not going so good for us— we got scared that we were going to blow each other up, we got scared that we were going to break our planet permanently, we got scared that in a hundred years we were all going to be dead and gone and even if there were other people out there, we’d never get to meet them
and then
we built robots?
and we gave them names and we gave them brains made out of silicon and we pretended they were people and we told them hey you wanna go exploring, and of course they did, because we had made them in our own image
and maybe in a hundred years we won’t be around any more, maybe yeah the planet will be a mess and we’ll all be dead, and if other people come from the stars we won’t be around to meet them and say hi! how are you! we’re people, too! you’re not alone any more!, maybe we’ll be gone
but we built robots, who have beat-up hulls and metal brains, and who have names; and if the other people come and say, who were these people? what were they like?
the robots can say, when they made us, they called us discovery; they called us curiosity; they called us explorer; they called us spirit. they must have thought that was important.
and they told us to tell you hello.
The quirky millenial struggle to find housing, any housing whatsoever 🙃
Ahh, nothing like a 20+ year economic depression and multiple crises to get those housing prices at a reasonable level after a year of searching 🙃
Ha, lol, nvm

Okay, but the thing that drives me nuts about The Capitol in the Hunger Games (films) is that there's nowhere near enough sad beige everywhere.
Yeah, I did physically peak in my mid-20s, but I was a dumbass, so it evens out.
