Today is the final day to check out @springbreakartshow and my solo installation, “The Museum of Moral Panic: Satanic Panic Wing” curated by @jacobrhodes74 and @krisrac of @fieldprojects! In it (Booth 1065), you’ll find a slew of objects commemorating various 20th century/contemporary moral panics, posited in a space akin to the belly of a medieval banquet hall with Dario Argento lighting. These tapestries were constructed from commercially woven, cotton jacquard images of digitally collaged fiber sculptures, appliquéd with hand-crocheted cotton blood dripping text. . I was raised without religion but experienced a skewed/naive version of Catholicism through observations of my family and loved ones. I have a memory of some older relatives creating banners similar to these for some church-related purpose.
