Day Two of by the Choices April Challenge

Maxwell completely crept up on me. I had chosen another LI and was committed to that route until Maxwell took MC out to the generator and I had this sudden, thundering realisation that he was the One. I finished the book (with all of the headcanoned angst) and replayed for him and that only convinced me that I was right.
Maxwell is so sweet, so kind, so fun... He’s the person who’ll go out of his way to make other people happy without thinking anything of it. He cares so damn much and acts like that’s nothing because that’s just the way he sees the world. Even if it’s not romantically, I can’t imagine anyone not loving him.
To my eternal shame, I completely slept on Tom during ILITW. I wasn’t romancing Andy and was more focused on other characters’ stories, so Tom was a bit more in the background for me. I thought he was a great guy, but he didn’t really register.
Holy shit was that a mistake. It was love at first blush (so about 3 lines after his introduction...). I was smitten even before I’d had the “oh shit that’s Tom from ILITW!” moment and it only got worse.
Tom is the guy who’ll get all flustered when you kiss him one moment, then turn around to rip out a supernatural monster’s spine with his bare hands the next. While making puns. He makes it so easy to fall for him (and is then adorably surprised when someone does!).
The dork with the hard outer shell so thin it’ll shatter at the lightest touch... I knew from the first meeting that he was going to be a softie, and ok I didn’t think he was going to prove me right quite so soon into the book, but that just makes him even more adorable. He became besotted with MC almost as quickly as I became besotted with him.
He’s such a soft, blushy sap who adores MC almost despite himself. He’s smart, a little bit sarky, easily flustered and absolutely starved for sunshine... He wants MC so badly. Seeing him blossom and open up is lovely and he becomes so sweet and affectionate once he has.
