I wanted to try to grow my own avocado plant and first sprouted a seed in water using a plastic water bottle. It worked! But it was ugly. So I made a ceramic "sprouter" that sits on top of a glass. When it starts to leaf out I will plant it in soil and sprout a new avocado seed. I might start selling these if anyone is interested!
