Grown men should stop calling women "little girl" in songs because it's at best condescending and at worst, creepy af.
example: Hey little girl is your daddy home Did he go and leave you all alone Uh hunh, I got a bad desire
911!
Why do the things that we treasure the most slip away in time Til to the music we grow deaf and to God's beauty blind?
Bruce Springsteen, Life Itself, 2009

I love how good Bruce is at opening lines
SLike as great as a lot of his lyrics are some of the best ones are found right at the start and he has so many songs where the very opening lyrics immediately set the stage or make me want to know what’s gonna happen next
Sir, I am a pilgrim, a stranger in this land / But once I had a home here, my salvation was at hand
Bobby said he’d pull out, Bobby stayed in
I come from down in the valley, where mister, when you’re young, they bring you up to do like your daddy done
The ragamuffin gunner is returning home like a hungry runaway
Spanish Johnny drove in from the underworld last night, with bruised arms and broken rhythm in a beat-up old Buick but dressed just like dynamite
Remember the morning we dug up your guns?
Born down in a dead man’s town, the first kick I took was when I hit the ground
I had skin like leather and the diamond-hard look of a cobra
Men walking ‘long the railroad tracks, going someplace there’s no going back
Seen a man standin’ over a dead dog by a highway in the ditch
41 shots
Everything in your shadow turns to vapor
Like okay, maybe I can’t accurately say this when I know those songs, but I feel like pretty much any one of those lines would make me immediately wonder what the rest of the song’s going to be. He’s so good at roping me into a song and commanding my attention with just one line
And this is a totally non-exhaustive list, too, just some of the first ones I thought of offhand.
We gotta stay cool tonight, Eddie 'Cause man, we got ourselves out on that line And if we blow this one They ain't gonna be looking for just me this time
Them smokestacks reachin' like the arms of God....
