Happy Monday, have a good week friends! The blossoms are coming out on the jacaranda trees - a bit later than usual, but very welcome nonetheless. Have I managed to sort out my Mac? Ummm not really. We were doing fine until it threw a hissy fit & froze, I threw one back until I decided to be grown up & adult about this. I gave us a time out so both of us could cool down & am marching down to Glyfada. There I'll catch the tram to go & see an artist friend of mine in Neo Faliron. Ummmm where did the blue skies go to? Looks very much like rain is coming. How glad I am that that I went on all those outings last week. Meanwhile I'm trying to delete thousands of files from my Mac to free up space but it's behaving like a baby. Every few minutes it tells me it can't trash something because it's in use. I tell it to skip that & go onto the next item. Why isn't there a button I can press which says delete all those files you can & skip the rest? Instead I have to sit by it & monitor it. Surely very childish behaviour .... this will keep me up all night. Ah well, hopefully it will work better once it's done #March2017 #lambisstory #springtimeingreece (at Ellinikón, Greece)

Wild flowers on the slopes of the Athens Riviera. It's been a blast walking around this area in the past week. I'd never walked here before & I hadn't realised how beautiful it was - especially in spring. It's too hot for me to do much walking in summer, so I've enjoyed getting to know the area better now. Still battling with my Mac, but I seem to have made some progress. The March sunsets 🌅 have entranced me this year with their colours. This one's from my bedroom balcony tonight. Looking over the old airport at Elliniko to the sea. Have managed to get my kindle to work again, tomorrow's the day I will wrangle with my macbook. One last look at the Limenakia until I visit again. Today I managed to get a load of paperwork out of the way. Took frequent breaks to sit on the terrace & enjoy the sunshine. The birds have been exceedingly vociferous & the magpies fearless. 2 of them came a few metres away from my foot to resume their quarrel. The cats loathe these birds as they always get teased by them. Will call it a day for paperwork, make myself a drink & put my feet up. Xronia polla! Happy #greekindependenceday! Kai tou xronou The Limenakia - a pic from yesterday. I'm staying at home this weekend to sort out things as there'll be a lot of people out & about due to the Greek holiday. I wonder if I could persuade one of my friends to come down here with me after I return from Ios - it is such a magical spot. I've been lucky with the weather while I've been in Athens. When my mum was alive we'd have long discussions about which was most beautiful: Attica or the Cyclades - I'd always vote for the Cyclades (those little white houses). This year I've come to see that both places are beautiful in their own way. Monemvasia, Peloponnesus & Laconia showed me their charms over Christmas, but there are a lot of places I have only visited as a child .... or not at all. While I won't wander far from Ios at this time of year, methinks it's time to explore & experience more of Greece this winter #March2017 #lambisstory #athensriviera #greece #limenakia #springtimeingreece #beautyofgreece (at Island Athens Riviera)

Yay! I had my first dip in the sea for this year today! I say dip & not swim as it was too cold to do more than go in & come straight out. There were about 10 people on the beach, but no umbrellas or sunbeds. It's a pretty little cove with a pebble beach, I'll definitely come here again when I'm in Athens. Such a good feeling to lie on a beach again & soak up the sun - I've even got a bit of colour! Think Uli would've been pleased I resisted the temptation to go to a deserted cove & I followed my instincts to go somewhere with people around & a cafe close by. What a marvellous day! Feel really elated that I got in the sea - it's the earliest time of the year I've done this for many years. Back home now & making myself a juice & relaxing with some music.
