💙 the cat distribution system
by ScarlettStorm (@scarlettohairdye)
E, 38k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Wei Wuxian didn’t imagine acquiring a cat like this, nor did he imagine acquiring a fluffy white cat that, even covered in dirt and debris and clutched to a four-year-old’s chest like a teddy bear, manages to give the impression it’s judged his entire life and found it deeply wanting. “Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?” “A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains. Or: Wei Wuxian gets a cat, and then a boyfriend, both of which are a surprise.

Tomorrow never comes
by Lyna_Mei (@lynamei)
M, WIP, 15k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: No one expected for the world to come to end the night before the guest lectures started in the Cloud Recesses. Cultivation sects are about to face a threat they had never seen before, and Wei Wuxian somehow lands himself right into the middle of it. They can only save themselves and others by working together. But it couldn't be easy when every sect has their own goals and ambitions.

When Life Gives You A Fucking Baby
by SpringWinter
T, WIP, 52k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Wei Wuxian gets the surprise of his life. The product of this kicks off a few things: namely, Jiang Yanli finally getting sick of her parents, Jiang Cheng Getting A Grip, and Lan Wangji fistfighting his uncle in a Denny's parking lot. That last one might have been exaggerated. - Wei Wuxian starts to feel unwell halfway through dinner with the Jiangs...

by indigotigress7
T, WIP, 14k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Lan Wangji has been invisible as long as he can remember. All of Cloud Recesses treats him like a ghost, getting distracted and forgetting his existence whenever he moves or speaks. by kintou (@ao3-kintou)
E, 15k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec

aim never untrue
by sunflowersfield (@sunflowersfield)
G, 3k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Wei Ying is the kindest man Lan Zhan has ever met. He is mischievous, certainly, but Lan Zhan has never seen him disrespect another person with his antics. He has a glowing smile ready for anyone who might need one—unless, of course, they have harmed one of his friends. He is fiercely and unflinchingly loyal, and he somehow knows how to help others without making them feel small. Lan Zhan has only known him for a few short months, but he already knows these things about him. He cannot allow himself to get to know him better. Or: Lan Zhan, in his final year of college, promises himself that he will not be distracted by the possibility of love.

The Weight We Carry
by BenevolentErrancy
T, WIP, 72k, Wangxian | Kay and Mojo's Rec
Summary: Lan Qiren looked at the guan in his hand. Once it had been his, before he had bequeathed it to Lan Xichen. Now that guan was once again in his hands, its weight familiar and damning. His nephews were not yet grown. The war had not yet been fought. So many lives had not yet been lost. And yet even with his forewarning Lan Qiren didn’t know how to fix anything. He could hardly kill Wen Ruohan, who was already near-immortal and protected by a powerful sect. (There was another threat he could kill. One which wouldn't have any cultivation or protection, not yet. A child who would grow to be a demon, who would grow to doom his nephew. The Yiling Patriarch would be just as young as his nephews were, and who would miss a single, orphaned child?) - Lan Qiren sets out to kill the Yiling Patriarch. This is not exactly what happens.

by pennydaniels
E, 13k, Jiang Fengmian/Yu Ziyuan | Kay's Rec

~*~
Moon So Bright
by trulywicked (@trulywicked)
M, 7k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Giving birth was not what Wei Wuxian expected to happen today, otherwise he wouldn't have gone to the rabbits, but it's not surprising that his and Lan Wangji's child would defy expectations.

Lullaby
by jade_musing
T, 5k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Lan Wangji accidentally summons a demon while trying to pull off an assignment overnight—not any demon, but the King of the Demon Ordeal. What he assumed to be terrifying turned out to be a plushie-hugging sweetheart, who is also heavily pregnant. As for the father of the baby, Lan Wangji starts uncovering secrets about himself that he doesn’t remember ever creating at all.

to ease the pain of growing wings
by kintou (@ao3-kintou)
G, WIP, 15k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: When A-Yuan started showing his first signs of being a dragon, it was nerve wracking. Being a witch, Wei Ying knew precisely nothing about raising dragons and he could only think of one person — a set of huge blue wings, white horns, traditional pride — that could help him.

The time A-yuan was not the only little one anymore
by shymaidenlwj
G, 4k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: After a while, he finally spoke up. “...Whose baby is this?” Wei Wuxian smiled and shifted closer to Lan Yuan, “Whose do you think? He came out of me just like you did! It’s your baby brother, the one you always gave goodnight kisses to.” Lan Yuan’s eyes widened in realisation and his eyebrows knit closer together, “the baby…was supposed..to come out? Was he not supposed to stay inside mama’s belly…forever..” Lan Wangji, “.......” Wei Wuxian, “.......” Granny Wen only chuckled lightly and patted his head, “Naive little boy.”

💙 no trouble
by vooxian
E, WIP, 56k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: “Lan Zhan…” “I can drive A-Yuan to daycare and pick him up on the days you’re too busy. In addition to sharing meals.” She lifts a pacifying hand when Wei Ying’s eyes widen. “It is no trouble to me.” Wei Ying sputters. “Of course it is—” “Then trouble me.” Though Lan Zhan doesn’t raise her tone, there’s a ring of exasperation to her words. She pauses for a recentering breath. “My life is spotless. Perhaps I could… Use a little trouble. The good kind.”

Gather Near
by sunflowersfield (@sunflowersfield)
T, 3k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: “How are your plans for the living room scene coming along?” “Ah,” Wei Ying says. “Well, it’s alright. The fireplace came in, so that’s a start.” “I see.” They speak about the unexpected weather for a few moments before Wei Ying heads over to his current window display to begin tearing it down. As he walks away, he turns to look back at Lan Zhan, and he is not surprised to see that he is watching him leave. Because that’s the thing about Lan Zhan. He does see. He listens. He observes. And Wei Ying isn’t sure how he feels about that. Or: Wei Ying is the Window Decorator at a department store, struggling through the holiday season. Lan Zhan, his coworker, sees him for who he truly is.
~*~
main character syndrome
by spicecandy (@gaycowboyjesus)
E, 9k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Lan Zhan thankfully cuts him off right there, his ears flushing a deeper shade of red. “No balloons. I have a work function I must attend and I need a plus one. My brother will be attending and I would like to make it very clear to him that I am not interested in being set-up with my female coworkers.” “So you’re looking for someone to make it really obvious that you’re gay? Scare them off with how super-queer they are?” Wei Ying’s tone is light, but he can’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment., He’d gotten his hopes up too quickly — what did he think? That a guy like this would want a relationship with him? He mentally runs through his Grindr pics and cringes internally. He was picked because of his weird gay undercut and crop top and embarrasing tattoos. You don’t go looking for relationships on Grindr, Wei Ying reminds himself irritably.

Snowdrift
by Rainewritesfanfics
G, 1k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Lan Qiren goes to Yiling a year afterwards, looking for something of hers to bury. Instead, he, or rather A’Zhan, finds a little boy with her smile.
~*~
The past before your eyes
by Bastet_Fanwork
T, WIP, 11k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Lan Zhan couldn't speak. Was he still breathing? He wasn't sure. He didn't know if he could see or hear because his entire being had become his beating heart in front of the boy who had just entered the room. Wei Ying was... young. By the gods, he looked so young. His hair was styled in the ponytail he had stopped wearing along with his sword, as if loose hair could help him hide from the hostility and fear of others. His eyes were bright and happy. His lips were curved into the smile that had captured Lan Zhan's heart from the very beginning. The Wei Ying in front of him was just a boy, not yet tainted by war's harshness and people's cruelty. ~ Lan Wangji dies from the thirty-third lash, then wakes up as his fifteen-year-old self in the Cloud Recesses.
