An environmentally conscious education is creative!
It has been a while since I attended school, even more since I held a wooden pencil in my hand, however I always remember how painful it was to see hundreds of 2 inch pencils being tossed into the bin. While most students cared little about where and how these would eventually be dumped, it would always bother me.
As I grew up It bothered me less. Perhaps because after 5th grade I hardly used one but more so because I began accepting this rather wasteful practice as something everyone did. But it always stayed with me..at the back of my head.
Recently a facebook post reminded me of it but this time I smiled. A pencil company had come up with such a simple yet creative solution!
It was one of those “damn why didn’t I think of it!” moment. Sprout pencils aptly named are probably the best new innovation in the field of creative stationary I have seen in a while.
