So question why is lavendernose above dreamsnarl? Is he more important

Good question! I’ll answer this down below, but I will use this to worldbuild as well.

The different factions or orders of the alliance have different structures. The order Thunder, for example, falls the most in line with canon. They have a leader luminary, but also a council below them made up of Heads. For example, the Head of hunting is considered one of the best hunters, and helps organize larger hunts of animals like boars or deer. The Head guard is typically one of the strongest fighters, and they help organize the patrols to watch over camp and the territory- however, they are more defensive than the commander. The commander is the main cat for offensive battle. Usually the best tactician, they organize battle patrols. And then there is the heir, the cat who inherits the position of Luminary after the old one dies or is exiled. They have a lot of political sway within the Order, and usually work more so on building bonds with the Order and learning how to lead.

But this isn’t how all of the Orders work. Mainly, to answer your question, the reason that Star-Speaker Lavendernose is higher up on the pecking order is because the order of shadow treats Star-speakers like their leaders. I’lil explain more in an upcoming Culture piece, but that’s the short answer for now!
