Stuffed Animals | 300 word drabble

➥ 11/12 prompt: Stuffed Animals | for @spaceprincesswritings Week of Writing

The A/C is broken and as much as she enjoys cuddling with Taehyung, it is much too hot. So, she comes up with a plan.

Even with the bed pushed against the window, the blankets piled on the floor, and the pillows thrown across the room, the sweltering heat kept her from falling asleep. She wore only one of his oversized shirts that now ridden up to her waist and a pair of cotton underwear as she tried to starfish herself to capture any breeze that drifted in through the window.

There was only one problem: Taehyung had clung onto her, draping a leg over hers while holding her torso, his face cuddling into her neck. It wasn’t as if she didn’t love cuddling with her love, but when it’s a midsummers night that has you sweating like a pig and that love is radiating waves of heat, cuddling just isn’t comforting anymore.

Careful not to wake him up, she gently pushed Taehyung off of her only to have him hold on more tightly. Although fatigued, she tried again to temporarily peel him off her body, and reached over the foot of the bed to grab anything that could substitute as Taehyung’s nightly cuddle buddy. Undoing his grip on her arm, she is finally free from his grasp, but also the comfort of her bed as she nearly falls out of it, crawling on the floor instead.

She glanced around the room with squinted eyes as she tried to see in the dark, sight landing on a heart-shaped character pillow on top of dirty laundry piled on the desk chair. She crawled over, grabbed it, and crawled back to the bed, lifting Taehyung’s arm and waited. Taehyung hugged the pillow and shifted into a fetal position, and she climbed over him, reclaiming her previous position next to the window. When a breeze flutters past the window pane, she closes her eyes and hopes that now she might be able to fall asleep.

So it is official... I have my room booked and purchased my tickets for 2013!!

Debating if I will volunteer this year or not... I'm gonna see how I feel about it closer to the event. I missed a lot last year because of the 4 hours blocks!!
