past the endgame

Tony had been trying to work with Peter in his man-cave - something only Banner was allowed to experience with him. Usually, that was. Ever since he had brought Peter on board with the Avengers he liked it to invest his time and knowledge into him, to teach him different things and every now and then he even learned something from Peter.
Today though nothing seemed to go so well. For some reason Tony was very moody today, it was their first time trying to work on a project after the war against Thanos had been over and nothing seemed to work as it did in the past. He nearly lost his temper every time Peter dropped a screw or couldn’t find a tool he needed and when Peter’s clumsyness appeared for the seventh time he couldn’t keep biting his lip.
“What do you MEAN you can’t find it, it’s always on the TOP fucking shelf, for gods sake!” his voice echoed in his workshop and they looked at eachother, Tony suddenly realizing how much he sounded like his dad. He sighed after he was done looking at Peter who had frozen on the spot, looking back at him like a deer caught in headlights. “Oh man. I’m sorry.” Tony uttered.
He wasn’t mad at Peter. He was mad at himself. So far he hadn’t managed to wrap his head around what had happened during the war, he hadn’t spoken to anyone about what he had been through and the memories were all a little to heavy on his heart. “I’m sorry, I just... haven’t been sleeping properly.” That wasn’t a lie, but it also wasn’t his main problem. He had to pour his heart out but he didn’t want to be a burden, didn’t want to waste anyone’s time with talking about his feelings.
Especially not Peter.
“Let’s... keep going. I need two three times fourty-five screw... metric thread, as always. And maybe... you should go home, I’m not really a good companion right now.”
