Spock taking forever to explain something and Uhura getting it like three sentences and putting it in standard English for everyone else is one of my favorite things

Though the writers seem uninterested in developing Spock and Uhura, it would be such a missed opportunity.

If Spock sees his connection to T’Pring through his Vulcan side, and that of Chapel with his human side, I could see Uhura being the one to accept him completely. After all, Uhura (more than anyone) is passionate about learning about others for who they are:

“I found early that, if I wanted to be understood, it's best to communicate in someone's own tongue, so I learned them.”

While I can see the writers setting up Spock feeling conflicted about Chapel and T’Pring, and thus the internal dichotomy he feels regarding his Human and Vulcan makeup, it would feel more satisfying if he chose neither. And maybe Uhura would be the perfect third option love interest, who wouldn’t make him feel the need to choose.

Plus Spock and Uhura’s scenes in 1x02 are just too good not to have more of.

The level of respect Spock has for Uhura in such a short amount of time is so precious.

“But, having observed your actions on the comet, I am certain, should you choose to, Starfleet would be fortunate to have an officer like you.”

If they don’t wanna go for the Uhura/Spock romance, fine, but at least give me more of their friendship I mean COME ON.
