During the first wizarding war, a young muggle, Penny Wicks and her magical friends become the main targets of a brutal Deatheater who earns a reputation as the Knockturn Ripper. Things become more complicated as it looks like the ripper was involved in a raid that killed Penny's mother, Enola 5 years earlier. Heads roll and the blood flows as the ripper goes on a rampage. Since penny is no witch she's forced to rely on her wits to survive as they all try to find out who the ripper and his motivations.
