LMAO sorry anon but in this AU, we only have bittersweet endings, not happy ones.

Golden Era of Hollywood wasn’t great, y’all. All the laws that are in place now that protect actors…did not exist at this time.

No OSHA, no child labor laws, no such thing as “intimacy choreographers” or on set psychologists. Children were given drugs to stay awake during long shoot hours, actors were given cigarettes as replacement meals… Abuse was prevalent in this time and you see a lot of actors in real life dying due to drug abuse/overdose because of habits that were forced on them that they could not let go as they got older. People literally died on set and studios got away with that Scott free.

So unfortunately, there is no “happy ending”. But we have explored different endings for this AU that are somewhat good. For example, Mickey having so much success that he is untouchable—this gives him the freedom to direct his own movie. He opens his father’s dream of Disneyland/Disney World. He reconnects with Webby and is a good co-parent with Donald. Mickey learns to exist as his own person, even when he stumbles. He can’t leave Hollywood, so he tries to make it better.

Donald leaves Hollywood to focus on his family. Zé and Panchito enter a polyamorous relationship with Donald. They are supportive and they do not label their relationship—they just live together and raise the kids together.

Mickey and Minnie reconcile and remain friends—she knows him the best aside from Donald. He is still stiff with Goofy but learns to forgive him and start their friendship over.

Daisy is still pissed at Mickey lmfao but she sees him trying. That’s a start.

So it’s okay if bad things happen to these characters! Just like in real life, the sad times don’t last forever. …but these are unofficial endings. I don’t think we ever actually officially “ended” this AU.

No, no, they really loved each other. They were childhood friends, they trusted each other, they began very organically. It's just that, unfortunately, they didn't have any idea that what they were doing would lead to...Webby.

I do think it's fair to say that a part of it was to feel a bit of control over themselves--after all, they could truly be themselves only in private, and that's true for all of the Sensational Six. But I think it was more that they were each other's refuge in a hellscape.

Daisy was the second actress cast to be paired with Donald before it finally stuck. So being fairly new to the group, she worked her way to get this audition and had the fortune (or misfortune if you ask her) to get hired. She remembers the industry before being in the Sensational Six and so she has some perspective of the “outside”, before joining this cult-like circle that they have in Disney-MGM Studios. When Donald was with Mickey, Daisy learned of how he acted, would hear how Mickey would speak to him firsthand (i.e. toxic era-appropriate fatphobia, and other comments made out of that “concern” that he learned from his father) so she never really forgave him for hurting Donald. She sees how complacent Mickey is, never seeming to question his father, even to his own detriment, let alone the rest of theirs. She, like the rest of the gang, saw Mickey at his worst. But unlike the rest of them, she doesn’t hide her disdain. She’s just a ride or die for Donald, a real one.

We also have another sub-AU where Mickey ends up with Daisy at the end. Finally, someone who challenges him and is devoted to him! 💕 That one was definitely an enemies-to-lovers situation and it happened way later in life when they were already grown adults with grown children.

Walt knew.

Mickey, what... just turned 18? He didn't know about life, let alone how to navigate a career-ending revelation such as this, so Walt was the first person he told. Walt was furious. Which was why his initial reaction was to strike Mickey in the face. Walt was scared for Mickey's career, and for their stability! How could his good son do this!

@diogxnxs: AND it was not just ONE of his actors! It was also Donald, and these were both of his actors and what does this mean?

Walt was VERY aware of what was going on with his actors, especially Mickey. He had a close eye on him and he had a lot of control over what he did with his time.

I think he was very distant from Webby after she was born, ready to just go back to routine. I think he showed more love for HDL, which is apparent by his including them in commercials, movies, etc as Donald's nephews. It looked like a set, visually appealing, matches Donald to a T.

On Walt's deathbed, I think at that point, Mickey had full control over himself. Mickey saw fame and success like never before, he was rich, he had power in the Hollywood realm. At that point, he took over the brand and while Walt never saw the fruits of his labor in Florida, Mickey took over the construction of that project, honoring the theme park there with his father's name.

Mickey had complicated feelings towards his father. He loved him. He hated him. He resented him. He admired him. Even after his death, he still wanted to honor his legacy, even if in adulthood he distanced himself from him. I don't think Mickey ever got the closure that he wanted. It just ended. And now he has to be in charge.

It’s hard to say what Benjamin “Bugs” Bunny thinks. The man is an enigma, has a permanent smug smile and a tongue sharper than his Valentino suit. Maybe he loves Mickey Mouse. Maybe he hates Mickey Mouse. (Dio: Maybe he just thinks Mickey’s a hypocrite. Maybe he wants him to let loose a little bit.) One thing’s for certain, they take great pictures together. 

David “Daffy” H. T. Duck (no relation to Donald) loves to make fun of Mickey, so there’s that. I think there’s a bit of a rivalry between him and Donald, especially given they were both drafted, both are the sidekicks to their more popular co-star, and their very last names are the same. (Dio: Except that time, Donald was more popular to Mickey–he was a little unique in that during that time, he was adored even as a sidekick.)

All in all, they remain distant, but friendly acquaintances, I think. They make appearances at the others’ premieres, have nice things to say about each other in the press... But the tension is apparent, especially when they compete on the big screen.

Also–I think Speedy Gonzales and Panchito are actual bros, good friends. If social media existed and we were in the modern times, they would be mutuals on everything and retweet each other FOR SURE. Panchito was Speedy’s precursor, he walked so that Speedy could run (LITERALLY). So of course, Panchito would be happy to see another Mexican do well, even if later on in life it’s a bit bittersweet due to Mickey’s jealousy. Maybe he should’ve gone with Warner Brothers after all…
