Elena's embarrassed by the giggle that leaves her lips, her usual poised demeanour immediately crumbling. He's so - Distracting. Ordinarily she would be locking herself away to do work, complaining about how she has so much to do.
Now though? Elena finds she wants his distraction. She craves his joyful energy and the way that he brings a smile to her lips. It feels - Weightless.
"I'm supposed to be writing a proposal." Lips murmur against his jaw as she returns the kisses. She makes no effort to stop, however, grinning as she presses a kiss to the tip of his nose, hands cupping either side of his face. "What has you in such a good mood?"
" happy birthday, my love. " stefan peeks his head around to the archway of her bedroom. he's holding a small-ish pink bag with a balloon tied to it that reads happy birthday. ever since he missed her eighteenth birthday ... due to klaus, stefan vowed to not miss one of her birthday's ever again. & he hasn't since. his other hand has a bouquet of flowers, the same kind he brought her on their first date all those years ago. " you know i'm not the best gift picker but caroline helped me this time. so, if you don't like it ... blame her. " he smiles before walking into her room fully & handing her the bag, which had a simple but gorgeous bracelet in it with an E charm on it that had a small gem of her birthstone in the middle of the E.
ㅤㅤshe immediately perks up at his voice, eagerly getting to her feet to meet him ⸻ both because it's her birthday of course, but mainly because she simply loves to be with him. her entire self seems to light up as she sees what he carries, noting the familiar flowers. ❛ you're such a romantic, ❜ she teases, but it's obvious how important it is to her that he remembers these little things. he truly makes her feel seen, makes their memories feel cherished. she accepts the gift, carefully opening it. ❛ stefan! it's perfect. ❜ she launches herself at him, arms tight around his back and face nuzzling into his shirt. after a moment, she rests her chin on his chest, dark gaze soft with adoration as it tilts up to meet his again. ❛ will you put it on me? ❜

I swear to God I've never been so excited in my entire life. I'm so looking forward to the Palawan trip my friends and I will be going to. I've heard so many praises about Palawan. They said it's a wonderful place to spend summer or any other season actually. The beaches. The Underground River. The islands. Oh my. I just can't wait.
