i know that road trip took maybe 2-3 days and ben needs to sleep so. darius taking over the drive and ben finally being able to relax after days of paranoia driving him. i just know he did a straight nightless drive to darius thinking he might be too late and being so relived when darius opened the door. so yeah he was def running on 0 hours of sleep driving from who knows where to darius...

bonus if darius convinces ben to pull over so they can both get some rest. cue bed sharing ("i can just sleep in the seats" "dude. come on." "i've done it before, don't worry" "get on the bed benjamin") it's a horrible set up but it feels safe and they manage to actually catch a few hours of sleep. And yes this is pulled from how darius managed to sway ben to pull over with just a few words seeing as ben was determined to drive straight to sammy's w no breaks

thoughts on 5+1 benrius everyone tries to get them together/notices something but they're dating already

Yaz and Sammy have been trying to get Ben and Darius to confess their feelings for each other and watch in agony after numerous failed attempts; Kenji eventually finds out and tries to help them as well, but fails. Turns out the two were dating the whole time, they’re just really lowkey about it lol

ohhhhh man this is my dream for it. everyone being like oh my god. we have to get these two together (read: if i have to sit next to them and deal with their not so subtle flirting i will lose it)

after months of trying to bait them into confessing kenji is the first to crack and asks darius straight up about his feelings for ben. and darius is like oh we're dating? did we forget to mention it and everyone is like. YES. YOU DID. they're just that kind of couple

butttt i'm also taken with the gushy benrius couple idea. lord they'd be insufferable. however a compromise is all their banter that the gang can't stand and think it's just flirting is their love language (it is flirting. Just their form of PDA)

darius: god you're always like this

ben: oh yeah? what are you going to do about it

everyone: please. please for the love of god can you guys date already

benrius fic idea post s2....ben avoiding darius specifically knowing that he would immediately crack under darius' eyes because he knows him so well....and now that darius knows what hes been hiding darius just. doesn't know how to feel. his supposed crush on brooklynn (that im still writing as comphet) vs ben keeping that from him. a mix of "how could you" and trying to see why he did it, getting into his mindset

this resulting in a cold shoulder as he tries to figure out his emotions (like when kenji came back) and ben just floundering and only having yaz and sammy supporting him since kenji is still so so hurt about everything that he will keep a grudge and darius? does not know how to feel. as always. he feels too much so he puts that on the back burner.

oh my god the fact that ben was trying to make darius feel comfortable before jumping at him w the questions like. "nice place wow this is awesome" "i remember the view here being beautiful" (helped him move in maybe??) "get much rainfall" and darius basically being like Ben cut the BS we know each other too well for this

Like what do you do when your friend is like "I wanted to ease into it...so.." i'd think it was like. a confession of sorts....Not followed up like "bro i think we're being hunted"

anyway also ben's immediate change in tone comforting darius...darius breaking so quickly in ben's presence that he hasn't been able to to ronny or brand...

Here is where i'm like. Wow. we get to watch two boys grow up and fall in love....or like. interact w deep emotional scenes like this if i stop my insanity for a bit. Like wow....

rn i'm like wow they're kind of arguing bc they're not on the same wavelength they're soooo stubborn i love them....their clashing bits are always so interesting to watch

Ben: Caffeine no longer keeps me awake while I work, so instead I have Darius periodically send me texts saying ‘we need to talk.’

Ben: It gives me the right amount of adrenaline and fear I need to keep going.
