Hair experiment with Kala Mer'ri! I thought she would have looked great with fully-microbraided hair if Mattel had been doing that kind of hair production in 2016, but doing it myself wasn't totally feasible with the difficulty of tiny braids, her shortish hair length, and the challenge of sorting out the rooting without creating messy gaps. I just braided the perimeter of her hairstyle to try out the texture. Her hairstyle is a little puffy and big canonically, but I tend to like a ponytail to be ponytail-shaped, so I tried wrapping it in a neon pipe cleaner matching her yellow tones for moments where I want her hair more sculpted, and added one around her ponytail tie just for detail.
