GAH, spell check... AVP franchise.
The first character I first fell in love with: The Predator. Stan Winston definitely broke ground when he had designed and created the creature. Special effects at that level at the time were phenomenal. Still are.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: The Predators. Predator, Predator 2 and the old EU material had expanded them from being these alien headhunters to being warriors who had a sense of honor that lived for the thrill of the Hunt.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: The Super Predators from PREDATORS. I hate those fucking abominations. They were not necessary and I felt like they devalued Winston’s original concept. A shit stain that needs to be removed.
The character I love that everyone else hates: The AvP Predators. A lot of people complained how big and muscular they were. A lot of people complained about Scar’s face. All of that can be overlooked.. Why should they look exactly like the original from the first movie?
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: That has yet to be determined but I can tell you I am considering the possibility of moving on from the franchise. I don’t like the fact that the comics are receiving the New 52 treatment in that they are getting rebooted and omitting a couple of the films and being treated as canon.
The character I would totally smooch: Machiko Noguchi from the old Expanded Universe material. I normally don’t find the women of Alien-Predator to be appealing to me in that way but Machiko comes close.
The character I’d want to be like: Broken Tusk Predator aka Dachande. He was by far in my book the true definition of what a Predator should aspire to be. He was skilled, clever and resourceful. He was also the kind of Hunter who believed in honor.
The character I’d slap: Out of the characters in this franchise? That’s practically a damn deathwish.
A pairing that I love: I don’t think that there is an official pairing regarding the characters in this franchise that I like in particular. I do know that AvP sparked the Scar x Lex ship but I’m not on board for that.
A pairing that I despise: I don’t think that there is an official pairing regarding the characters in this franchise that I don’t like in particular. I never understood canon pairings and the shipping wars behind them.
