Saw this on Pokemon Tiktok and it made me CRY
First up: Confession time… I haven’t completed any of the games. I played a bit of X and Moon, but unfortunately I don’t have a way to play any of the games currently.
What I did grow up with, however, are the Pokemon Anime and Movies.
Ash is a character that, to me, represents the best qualities one can learn in childhood and carry into adulthood: Kindness, Enthusiasm, Perseverance, and an appreciation for the world around them.
Whenever Ash encountered a challenge, over almost 30 years of Cartoons, he always remained passionate and kind, and defeat never swayed him to quit.
So, having his Origins (the ORIGINAL cartoon run), and by extension, the Original 150 Pokémon, hi-lighted here are so heartwarming.
Particularly, the moment of Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charizard all leading the others to support Pikachu just unlocked a sense of childhood pride.
Even though they’re silly little monsters, Each Pokemon is SOMEONE in the fandom’s favorite.
And I feel like Pokemon as a whole represent how each person is different. That’s why it’s so fun to build teams, and explore new Pokemon! Because each team is different, and as unique as the trainer!
Just because there are new Pokémon that come and go from the fandom’s attention, doesn’t mean ANY of the previous little guys will ever be forgotten!
This series, in part, is about GROWTH! Your Pokemon teams are meant to change! Heck, even the Pokemon themselves LITERALLY EVOLVE. And so, to have such a meta moment of ‘Do you hear that? Do you see these little guys? No matter how far you go, or how far you Grow, you never have to let go of the simple things you love. They will grow with you.”
