Shopkins Squish-Dee-Lish Squishies by Jakks Toys

My daughters and I have a new obsession: squishies. They are fun to squeeze, cute to look at, and often are scented. And one thing that my girls have always loved (thank you, YouTube videos!) are blind bags. Add the element of a surprise, and a toy becomes all the more exciting. 

That’s why we were extra excited to receive this box of squishies from Jakks Toys. They have a new line of collectible toys called Squish-Dee-Lish.

Isn’t the packaging cute? We were immediately drawn to the bright colours and the kawaii characters. That turtle hamburger is #goals.

And not only do they have regular Squish-Dee-Lish, they also have SHOPKINS Squish-Dee-Lish! (Jaw drops.) Like these toys could get any cuter. 

For those of you looking for your favourite Shopkins character, these squishies are more generic in nature. They have the same kawaii eyes and faces, but are not exactly the same as the actual Shopkins.

On the back of the package are some of the Shopkins Squish-Dee-Lish that are available to collect. They are super cute, but don’t necessarily have a Shopkins counterpart to go with them. It would be fun if they had names for each squishy. Also, there isn’t a checklist enclosed, so it’s tough to know how many there are to collect in all.

But look how cute they are! We opened five regular Squish-Dee-Lish blind bags, and this is what we got. A rabbit cinnamon bun, a cow donut, an eggplant(?) bear, a bird ice cream and a panda pancake (though some believe it is a doughnut, the jury is still out).

If you go online to Jakks’ website, you can find a PDF of the Squish-Dee-Lish Collectors’ Guide. As you can see, there are a few colour variations for each. Aren’t they fun? I wish we would have found the cat cupcake, it is so sweet!

We opened four of the Shopkins Squish-Dee-Lish squishies, and we got a cup of hot chocolate, two slices of layer cake, and some neon pink pancakes! These  don’t have names, but they definitely have the trademark Shopkins eyes and cute expressions. 

We found the checklist online and discovered there were many more Shopkins squishies than the ones on the back of the packaging. There are so many adorable ones! And there is a Toasty Bread! 

If I had a wishlist, I would choose the watermelon, the sushi, the banana, the butter, the candy apple, and the corn dog. And the cotton candy. And the corn. Never mind, they are all too cute, I can’t even choose! 

They are smaller than your average squishy, but are a decent size for a blind bag squishy. They aren’t jumbo, but they aren’t tiny, either. Some (like the panda below) are squishier than others. But all of them are fun to look at, and fun to squeeze! 

The bunny cinnamon bun is the cutest! Actually, all of the ones below are faves. 

I didn’t think these were scented at first, but on closer inspection, we noticed the Shopkins ones (like the hot chocolate, below) had a faint coconut scent. The regular Squish-Dee-Lish squishies (like the eggplant bear) did not. 

Which would you prefer, a panda pancake or a DayGlo Shopkins pancake one? LOL. 

These two cakes seems to be inspired by Linda Layer Cake in Season 4. 

Series 2 comes out in November. We can’t wait to collect more of these and to see the new collection. Have you found Squish-Dee-Lish yet?
