Rain pattered down against the window of the shop that now occupied Ravio's own home after it had been fixed up and remodeled to its original state. With his head resting against his hand, the boy sighed and watched as the wind outside blew the shutters against the window over and over again, still creaking each time despite being new. It was a gloomy day, and even Sheerow wasn't immune to the dull sensation that seemed to fill the air. All day, there had been no visitors, no knocks on the door, nada - it was incredibly boring, and for as long as Ravio would remain in the shop on such a day, he knew that it wasn't going to improve. Perhaps it was time to face the rain and go into town.
Gathering his bag and a few wares from the shop, Ravio exited the small house and locked the door behind him, Sheerow instantly flapping his way into the shop-keeper's hood to keep dry from the relentless rain. As a large gust of wind blew by, Ravio's scarf was tossed into the air and began floating away on the harsh breeze.
"Hey! Scarf! Where do ya think you're goin' Get back here now!!" the boy called over the gust, rushing along after it, and nearly tripping over his magenta robe several times. When he was finally close enough to the scarf, he jumped, reaching out two pale hands towards the length of fabric to grab it, and only reaching it by a lose thread. Slightly annoyed, he wrapped the wet scarf back around his neck and let out a long sigh. In the midst of his frustration, that's when he saw it: a crack in the Lorule landscape that hadn't completely closed up all the way. Curiously, Ravio approached the split in the earth from which a faint light emanated, and reached out to touch it. A short memory passed through his mind of passing on his magic bracelet to Hyrule's hero, and a frown crossed the boy's face. It would have to be impossible to enter such a small place now....unless there was a way to make it larger.
Instantly, Ravio came up with an idea. He was quite lucky that he still had a fair supply of bombs, and that he'd brought several with him in the bag that he carried. However, the rain would be a minor issue when it came to lighting the fuse, for sure. Still....it was worth a shot if he could escape for a short amount of time, right?
Ravio clumsily removed a bomb from his sack and positioned himself over it so that his hood covered the fuse. This was going to be a risky operation. Taking a match from a pocket of his robe, he lit the fuse and crossed his fingers before darting away at the last possible second and rushing behind some nearby boulders.
"Take cover, Sheerow!" he shouted jovially. "She's gonna blow!"
Within seconds, a loud BOOM! shook the land, and Ravio tentatively snuck a peek over the boulder to see if his plan had gone accordingly. There, not extremely far away, was a larger opening - certainly large enough for a small teenage boy to fit through (though Princess Hilda likely wouldn't be amused by this antic). With a wide smile, Ravio ran towards it and dove in, Sheerow following quickly behind. Once in the opening to another dimension, Ravio felt the strange sensation of being tossed and turned and squeezed - unpleasant, yet...all the same, not horrible.
Finally, and with a strange plopping sound, the bunny-clad boy was spat out of the hole and into a different, much sunnier location. The rays of light shone down upon he and his bird, and for a moment, Ravio could do little more than lay in the warmth with a soft smile.
"Ahhhhhhh..." he said, reaching his arms up and putting them behind his head. "Much better, huh."
It was at that very moment that Ravio was suddenly overtaken by a shadow, though it wasn't of anything like a rain cloud - no. It was something smaller, like that of another person.
