Misadventuring || Ravio & Ghirahim
"You showed up out of nowhere. How?" He sneered down at the other man, watching him move. "You just stumbled along into this little wonderland of yours and expect no one to question your sudden appearance when surely you were not existent in this realm until this very moment."
When the stranger stood up and circled him like a guay circling a dead mass of meat, that was when the demon had hit rock bottom with this little arse of an idiot.
"I have every tool that I need that I can pull out at a moment’s notice. All it takes is a split second for me to find a weak spot and boom… Hopefully no one would miss you. After all, it would be quite tragic if you suddenly slipped up around someone you shouldn’t mess with."
And then he made a remark about Ghirahim’s gender. Oh, that was it. He had enough of smart remarking heroes for one lifetime, especially when his gender was the thing they were going on about. Oh, it was so very frustrating, he wanted to throttle the other man.
"Pardon me? Did you make a mention to me being female? I doubt I look very feminine, yes, I wear a little makeup, but what I prefer to wear is nothing you should worry your little self with." He spoke condescendingly. "And if you’re trying to sell me a fire rod… I’ll use it to roast you first."
The hooded boy let out an exasperated sigh at Ghirahim's small speech. "Look," he began, "I honestly could care less about any of that - can't ya see I'm just tryin' to make a pretty penny? I mean, even though Lorule's finally recovering and I'm getting a little more business, it doesn't mean that- hey. WAIT."
From beneath his violet hood, Ravio stared up at the other, eyes narrowing in a strange confusion that was mixed with curiosity. Within that mix was also a tiny twinge of fear, as the man before him obviously wasn't afraid of causing trouble. Despite the fact that he had, perhaps, already "slipped up", the boy straightened up and threw his question from his mouth.
"What do you mean how did I show up? It's not like...some huge secret that there have been rifts between Hyrule and Lorule for quite some time or anything. I mean, most of them are gone now, but there are still a few around. Well...maybe it's not common knowledge, but it's not quite hidden, either.....unless.....this....is Hyrule....isn't it?"
Surely it had to be - Hyrule was the only place those portals could lead to, supposedly. At least, in all the times that Ravio had used them, they'd never led to anywhere else. Perhaps with all of the reconstruction of Lorule's vast land, the paths had just gotten mixed up and now led to different parts of Hyrule. What other case could there be?
Misadventuring || Ravio & Link (ALBW)
”!!” Link quickly moved away before Ravio rammed into him out of fright. This wasn’t his intentional plan of surprising a friend he hasn’t seen in a while, but it was a bit amusing to see the bunny-clad boy react the way he did. The young hero felt a little bad, his eyebrows furrowing to an expression of worry, but he couldn’t help the small smile that graced his lips. It was kind of funny.
"Yep, it’s m— hnnn!" The green-clad hero was cut off the moment he was pulled into Ravio’s hug. He felt like a plush toy that was just given to a young child as a gift.
"R- Ravio… a-air…!"He manages to choke out and could then feel the air slowly flow through his lungs when the other released him. Link coughs a little and doesn’t mind Ravio taking his hands. He was just as happy to see him too and even though he could not see his face, he knew Ravio was smiling behind that mask of his. However, he blinked and stood there awkwardly because his friend hadn’t said anything yet, making him wonder if he was okay. Before he could ask, the bunny-clad boy let him go and Link just smiled sheepishly as his friend began to explain.
"So that’s how you got here! I… I was starting to wonder if I’d ever see you again, but… You’re here! You’re actually here!” His smile brightens and he chuckles a little, bouncing in place at this sudden unexpected turn of events. It was almost unbelievable that there were still cracks that led to each of their worlds, but Ravio was standing right before him. He was actually seeing the very person who had dragged him back to his house and helped him along his journey. This wasn’t a dream. It was real.
"How’s Lorule now? And you? And Sheerow? Are things starting to look up now?" It really was nice to talk to his ol’ buddy again.
Despite the excitement between he and his friend, Ravio had forgotten all about the purple hood that covered his face, and with cheeks growing slightly red from embarrassment, he lowered it to reveal his happy face. Sheerow, now without a hiding place, began to dart about and circle the boys in their reunion. His flutters and tiny squawks were an indication that he was just as enthusiastic about the meeting as they.
"Well, looks like Sheerow is doin' great!" the dark-haired boy said with a laugh before continuing. "And...I'm doing great as well - even greater now that i found you again! Lorule is finally returning to its original, beautiful state, though...it's taking longer than I thought it would. I guess that's obvious by the fact that I got here through a rift though..."
He tapped a hand against his chin for a moment, gaze turning upwards as though searching for the end of a thought. It was true that Lorule was recovering, though Ravio had hoped that the change would be immediate if only for the sake of Princess Hilda. The major ordeal had caused her such a large amount of stress, and with the land going back to normal that stress was dissipating, but it wasn't gone completely.
"Mm. I guess sometimes good things just come slowly. I'm sure all those holes will heal up soon, hopefully..."
Ravio's eyes followed Sheerow's path of flight and soon, having become tuckered out, the tiny bird returned to his friend's shoulder, his small chest expanding and contracting very quickly. The Lorulian smiled and directed his attention back towards Link.
"So, Mr. Hero," he began, a smirk appearing upon his lips, "what exactly were ya doin' before I showed up? Wandering around aimlessly? Saving the world again or somethin'?"
He chuckled.
"Have you been running my store for me?"

Livre // megarewps
The Hyrule Castle library was as vast and chock-a-block full as you would expect from a household of long line of royalty. Every book had it’s own story. Every book had it’s own unique cover, colour, age, smell… But not one of the carefully handled books had the answer the Princess was looking for.
There were plenty of riddles, idea’s, opinion to waste time with for years, maybe even century’s if one was desperate enough, but Zelda knew she wouldn’t find anything. The voice of her triforce of wisdom lead her from one book to another, but what she was looking for was even out of sight to the heavens.
"Goddess knows what was going through your mind, Midna…" Her jaw clenched as she slammed another book closed, her arm up in the air calling for the librarian who was patiently waiting behind a dark, wooden desk, looking at the Hylian royalty with slight worry.
"Bring me the next book I asked for."
"But um… Your Highness, that was the last book in the library." He cautiously worded himself as he made his way towards her, his hands rubbing together nervously. The elven princess’s head shot straight up, eyes wide and hair flowing all around her small face. Had she really… read every book? The whole 3 halls of books?
"You must be joking, correct?" Zelda replied, smiling even though her ears were twitching slightly.
"I’m sorry, Your Highness, but it’s true." The skimpy looking lad smiled awkwardly back at her before bowing.
"Ah well… That would be a little bit of a problem…" She nodded, still completely astounded at her (well what she thought as) ‘achievement’. "The whole library, huh?"
"Perhaps I could organize for another set of merchants with books for sale to see you? Maybe have the servants clean through again in case anything was missed? You have made an incredible list of everything you’ve already read so far…"
"That would probably be for the best…" Zelda sighed, resting her head in her hands. "Though this will be the last time. I’ll have to go search all the temples and ruins myself for anything if this second attempt fails."
"I will get it organized at once, Your Highness!" The Librarian boy’s eyes shone, his ear twitching with excitement. At least he was enjoying it…
"Yes, thank you. Bring in every merchant you can find, even if you must search any of our neighbouring kingdoms."
The sun had barely risen over the eastern reaches of Lorule when a knock was heard at Ravio's door. It was very strange that he would have a visitor so early in the morning, and because the boy was still asleep, warm under several blankets, the first knock did not awaken him. In fact, it took several more knocks, each one growing louder in volume than the previous, before he woke with a start and fell from his bed in a tangled mess of sheets and limbs. At his loud THUD, Sheerow was also immediately awakened, and began flying around the home, squawking shrilly. With the slightest bit of frustration, Ravio pulled himself from the heap of blankets and rubbed his eyes before approaching the door at which someone was still forcibly knocking.
"Alright, alright! Gimme five seconds, at least, Goddess!!"
Grumbling, he opened the door only to be greeted by someone whom he'd never laid eyes upon before. The person was decked out in clothes that were obviously representative of Hyrule's royal family. Immediately, Ravio straightened up and began to worry a bit. This must be serious.
"I...I'm sorry. How can I help you?"
He began to listen to the visitor speak about Hyrule's princess and her need for information, more specifically, for books. Though the majority of Ravio's wares were catered towards adventuring, he himself had a surprising penchant for books. In reality, he rarely cracked one of them open, but still....he found the heavy, leather-bound editions that concerned local and faraway histories aesthetically pleasing, and he knew that others adored them for deeper reasons. What this meant on another level was that he could sell those. And that meant that he could make rupees. So when the royal visitor requested that Ravio accompany him back to Hyrule's palace with his entire literary collection in tow, the boy could hardly decline. Plus, he'd get to see Princess Zelda again....right?
-
It took ages for Ravio to pile the entirety of his book collection into the fancy-pants wagon the visitor had arrived on, but after much heaving and many breaks, finally there existed a traveling library. When it was all done, Ravio angrily climbed atop a pile of books and looked down at the other sourly.
"Thanks for the help."
The royal assistant said nothing in return, and after a long while, underneath gray Lorulian skies, Ravio fell asleep, catching up on the short bit he'd missed after being interrupted from his dreams. The next time he was awake, his eyes grew wide at his surroundings. He was in Hyrule. But...it seemed...different.
With haste, the carriage made its way back to the Hyrule Castle, and when they finally arrived, Ravio climbed out, only to see someone strangely familiar, and yet strangely unfamiliar standing before him.
Sheerow, who had been fluttering around Ravio's head in excitement, suddenly quickly flew into his hood, obviously somewhat anxious about what exactly was occurring. Ravio, too, was very confused, but even still....he bowed before the woman who was quite obviously the ruler of this land before raising his head and looking up at her.
"Princess....Zelda? You look....different...."
Misadventuring || Ravio & Ghirahim
Ghirahim held his arms over his head, thinking better of it. Cold hands drew the cloak up around his head, and he regretted the fact that the hood of the cloak was more of a cowl than a hood, and his hair was plastered to his skull.
Human, holy spirit or corrupted spirit, Ghirahim had always hated getting caught in the rain, and he hated how it always managed to turn his clothes into a skin tight (or in the outfit choice he had since being a corrupted demon, tighter) mess of fabric that took his body a bit of coping to warm up.
A flaw in his system. One that was magnified when he no longer was able to be classed as a mortal. It also didn’t help that he was a bit of a stick in the terms of body type.
A muted boom could be heard, and two figures were pitched out of a crack in space.
It had finished raining not too long ago, hence the sunshine, but the demon was still soaked.
And he leered down at these two newcomers.
"And who… are you?" He growled.
Ravio was still quite enjoying the warm sunlight and the dewy, green grass when the shadowy figure suddenly blocked out his source of happiness. Immediately, he opened his eyes and jumped up, putting both arms up into the air as though he were prepared to fight whoever had taken away the delight of the sun's rays.
"What's the big idea?! Can't ya see me 'n' Sheerow here were just tryin' to enjoy the day?"
Overconfident? Perhaps. Underprepared? Definitely. For as soon as the one standing before Ravio and spoken, and as soon as he had realized the tiniest bit of threat within this strange, new voice, the boy in the bunny hood backed down, dropping his hands to his side and easing away slightly. This guy(?) certainly didn't seem too friendly...
"Well...uh...I'm...."
For a moment, he hesitated - not a very typical reaction for Ravio. But he realized that if this guy was looking for trouble, perhaps he could at least be distracted with a bit of humor, a joke, or....a sales pitch.
"Right! I'm Ravio! You know, surely you've heard of Ravio's Shop! And this here's Sheerow, my wonderful assisstant!" He pointed towards the small, white bird.
"Anyway, we're currently traveling the world selling wares to help with all of your daily adventuring needs!"
Ravio began to circle the cloaked man, taking in all of the minute details about him.
"Now, you look like a fellow with a cold personality - perhaps I could interest you in a fire rod to heat things up a bit! Y'know, no one's a fan of an ice queen...er....k-king!!"
Well, this was going well.
Misadventuring || Ravio & Link (ALBW)
Today was a day to himself. There was no need to get up at the crack of dawn to start working on some more training to become a blacksmith, no chores to do either; nothing. Gulley still woke him up, though. Not exactly at the usual time, but just to keep away from sleeping the day away. Which didn’t sound too bad to him, to be honest. Sleeping in as much as you wanted sounded lovely actually, but, there were still better things to do besides sleep all day.
Hyrule appeared to be peaceful, as well. No trouble afoot or anyone needing a helping hand, which left Link to wander into the forest. During his journey, he didn’t get the luxury of enjoying the vast lands and scenery around him. There was that constant worry and reminder of why he was on a journey in the first place, which made him felt like he had no time to stop. However, thanks to Irene, she reminded him it was okay to take a break or walk around to smell the flowers. It was important to take a rest every now and then, or else he would have collapsed from pushing himself too hard.
For now, Link simply enjoyed the sun-rays casting through the leaves of the trees onto his hands and clothes. It was warm and welcoming. Relaxing, even. The sound of birds chirping and singing throughout the forest made it feel all the more peaceful, though he hears a random ‘thump’ not too far off. What was that? It could of been an apple falling from one of the trees, but it didn’t sound quite like one did.
Curiosity gets the best of him, and Link heads towards where the sound had come from. He approaches with slight caution and spots something in a sunny area. Something that looked rather familiar. Very familiar. The young hero heads on over quickly, trying to contain his excitement and sneaks up on bunny-hooded figure. He jumps out at him and blocks the other boy’s sunlight by meeting face to face with him, wearing a huge grin. Much like Ravio did when they first. He says nothing, but waits for Ravio’s surprised reaction. If any. Link was very surprised too, but he’ll bombard him with questions later.
The moment Link's figured appeared above Ravio, he literally jumped up from the ground, flailing his arms about for a moment as Sheerow dove into his hood at the sudden reaction. Before the realization that the figure had actually been Link, the boy in the bunny ears could hardly keep from hollering out for a moment - a noise similar to the ones made by cuckoos who had been attacked by boys carrying play swords.
When he finally realized who it was that stood before him - a boy of similar height, a kind smile, green clothing, Ravio lowered his arms and his yelling stopped. After catching his breath, a toothy smile appeared from underneath his hood and immediately he stretched out his arms before wrapping them forcefully around his friend.
"It's you!!"
After releasing Link from a hug that could have possibly knocked the wind from his lungs, Ravio took his hands. From them came a certain warmth that could only be provided by a person who had known what Link had seen and experienced on his adventure.
"It's really you."
He smiled again, and the thought popped into his mind that...maybe this is what he'd gone through the barrier for - to see his friend once again. It had been so long...and originally he'd considered the idea that all of Lorule's portals to Hyrule would close up quickly. The fact that some of them hadn't had made him very lucky in this case, but at the same time....the thought that he may not be able to return back home hadn't yet crossed the bunny-clad boy's mind. Still, he wasn't going to look upon what was occurring as anything less than fate - somehow, something had pulled him into Hyrule to meet Link once again - had destined them to be close friends - he was sure of this!
After having stood in his thoughts for a moment and saying little else to Link, Ravio was suddenly reminded of the current situation and the fact that he was still grasping the hands of the other boy within his own. Immediately he let go and scratched his head through his hood in embarrassment, realizing that he hadn't exactly explained his arrival in Hyrule.
"Well, right," he began, a bit awkwardly, "I bet you're tryin' to figure out how and why I'm here exactly, huh? Well...see, there was a crack, and then I had an idea, and my bag had bombs, and well...one thing led to another, and BOOM!!"
It was a fair and eloquent explanation.
Misadventuring || OPEN
Rain pattered down against the window of the shop that now occupied Ravio's own home after it had been fixed up and remodeled to its original state. With his head resting against his hand, the boy sighed and watched as the wind outside blew the shutters against the window over and over again, still creaking each time despite being new. It was a gloomy day, and even Sheerow wasn't immune to the dull sensation that seemed to fill the air. All day, there had been no visitors, no knocks on the door, nada - it was incredibly boring, and for as long as Ravio would remain in the shop on such a day, he knew that it wasn't going to improve. Perhaps it was time to face the rain and go into town.
Gathering his bag and a few wares from the shop, Ravio exited the small house and locked the door behind him, Sheerow instantly flapping his way into the shop-keeper's hood to keep dry from the relentless rain. As a large gust of wind blew by, Ravio's scarf was tossed into the air and began floating away on the harsh breeze.
"Hey! Scarf! Where do ya think you're goin' Get back here now!!" the boy called over the gust, rushing along after it, and nearly tripping over his magenta robe several times. When he was finally close enough to the scarf, he jumped, reaching out two pale hands towards the length of fabric to grab it, and only reaching it by a lose thread. Slightly annoyed, he wrapped the wet scarf back around his neck and let out a long sigh. In the midst of his frustration, that's when he saw it: a crack in the Lorule landscape that hadn't completely closed up all the way. Curiously, Ravio approached the split in the earth from which a faint light emanated, and reached out to touch it. A short memory passed through his mind of passing on his magic bracelet to Hyrule's hero, and a frown crossed the boy's face. It would have to be impossible to enter such a small place now....unless there was a way to make it larger.
Instantly, Ravio came up with an idea. He was quite lucky that he still had a fair supply of bombs, and that he'd brought several with him in the bag that he carried. However, the rain would be a minor issue when it came to lighting the fuse, for sure. Still....it was worth a shot if he could escape for a short amount of time, right?
Ravio clumsily removed a bomb from his sack and positioned himself over it so that his hood covered the fuse. This was going to be a risky operation. Taking a match from a pocket of his robe, he lit the fuse and crossed his fingers before darting away at the last possible second and rushing behind some nearby boulders.
"Take cover, Sheerow!" he shouted jovially. "She's gonna blow!"
Within seconds, a loud BOOM! shook the land, and Ravio tentatively snuck a peek over the boulder to see if his plan had gone accordingly. There, not extremely far away, was a larger opening - certainly large enough for a small teenage boy to fit through (though Princess Hilda likely wouldn't be amused by this antic). With a wide smile, Ravio ran towards it and dove in, Sheerow following quickly behind. Once in the opening to another dimension, Ravio felt the strange sensation of being tossed and turned and squeezed - unpleasant, yet...all the same, not horrible.
Finally, and with a strange plopping sound, the bunny-clad boy was spat out of the hole and into a different, much sunnier location. The rays of light shone down upon he and his bird, and for a moment, Ravio could do little more than lay in the warmth with a soft smile.
"Ahhhhhhh..." he said, reaching his arms up and putting them behind his head. "Much better, huh."
It was at that very moment that Ravio was suddenly overtaken by a shadow, though it wasn't of anything like a rain cloud - no. It was something smaller, like that of another person.
painted-hero SAID: "BUT THAT’S… INSANE! THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO MAKE RUPEES, YOU KNOW. LIKE THE RUPEE RUSH GAME OR THE CUCCO RANCH ONE. WELL, THEY DO CHARGE TO PLAY, BUUUUT, IT’S NOT SO HARD! NORMALLY I COME OUT WITH MORE RUPEES THAN I HAD TO BEGIN WITH."
"But ya see, Link...it's easy for you to say that kinda stuff, because...you're in shape. Do I really look like the sorta guy who's gonna run about in the sun all day like a cucco with its head cut off? Let's just say there's another reason I wear this hood so much. /whispers/ It's because I have fat cheeks. Anyways, I'm makin' rupees with the least amount of effort that I can, and it's been working for quite a while, I'd say - mostly thanks to you of course. Now. Go about your business of playing 'Rupee Rash' and leave your fee at the door. And thanks for visiting Ravio's Shop!"
Raviooooo! You're not seriously charging 800 rupees just so people can ask you a question, are you?
"You betch'a, Mister Hero! A guy's gotta make a livin' somehow, right?"
Ask me anything! But pay up, first.
A peddler and his bird
(( Hi everyone! Since we're actually getting more members now, if anyone wants a real thread, message me! I'm planning one with Ghirahim but I'd be really excited to do one with whoever else as well <3 ))
Why do you conceal your face?
"Look. It’s like I told that other weirdo….n-not that I’m callin’ you a weirdo by any means! But I wear this to promote the lovechild of myself and aspiration: ‘Ravio’s Shop!’”
"It’s a great name, isn’t it?? An’ I thought of it all by myself.
…….
I bet you’re wondering if there’s any other reason for this getup, hm? Well, perhaps. But for now it’s best not to get into that.”
"My name is Ghirahim. May I ask what the outfit is for? You look ridiculous in it." He let out a little laugh.
"I look ridiculous?? Have you looked in a mirror lately? For your information though, this costume is how I'm promoting my store! See, at least it has a purpose! I can't imagine what kind of purpose that getup would have. Well....I can...but....it's not very appropriate!!"
"It seems that it is just you and me right now, rupee boy. Don't try to take my money, or I'll gut you." Ghirahim looked down at the boy.
Ravio pulled down at the sides of his hood, Sheerow swifly flying behind him in fear.
“H-hey now! Don’t g-g-gut me! What did I ever do to you? W-who even are you??”
