Audiophile post:
So I'm at work on a Sunday and I decided to take this opportunity to compare my old Grado SR80is to my new SR325is.
Got Eva 2.0 OST on FLAC here and I've been going back and forth on "Tsubasa wo Kudasai" and "Sin from Genesis" (Track 20 and 21) on disk 2. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that these two tracks have suitable quality for a comparison.
They definitely sound a little different but not different enough. I definitely need to get an amp and a DAC to bring out the difference between these two probably. I won't say the sound the same, there are subtle differences. But they're both Grado Prestige series so they have the same driver set up and can geometry, of course they sound similar. There's a bit more precision coming from the 325s and more kick. Biggest improvement you can detect is in the low range. You can hear which instrument is putting out bass much better.
Anyone got a good AND affordable DAC + amp combo they can recommend?
BTW if you want the beast headphones for the money without spending real money, pick up the SR80is and replace the ear cups with the same ones the 125's have. Also there's a cool wrap around cushion on amazon for like, 6 bucks. Best money I've spent lately.

basically.
High on Grado..
I think I am going to invest in a pair of Grado SR80i. I love my Shure headphones but, I need a decently priced pair for home.
