The NYSEIA Annual Meeting
This past Wednesday September 21st, I was privileged to attend the NYSEIA (New York Solar Energy Industries Association) annual meeting at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York. I went on behalf of EarthKind Energy, where I’m interning this fall semester. The President of NYSEIA, Ron Kamen, discussed the future expansion of solar energy in New York State and the policies that still yet need to be past. SREC’S was a term that could be overheard throughout the conversation between the numerous solar distributors, developers, dealers, and installers in attendance. SREC’s stands for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates, and is a fairly new ongoing incentive program available to those who install solar panels on their home or business.
