Chase has known Mary since primary school, and felt a romantic attraction to her since forever, the prom was near so he decided to confess his feelings for her, when he told her she was shocked and didn't know what to say. Chase embarrassed gives her a kiss and she kissed him back!!!!  He was so happy that he soon asked Mary if she wanted to be his girlfriend and she of course said yes.
