Errors caused by the canopy of the amazon trees on the SRTM signal cause interesting features when calculating the topographic wetness index, as this square spot.
SRTM elevation data in 30m resolution has been finally released for free use! Wohoo!

A friend is off skiing next week to Les Arcs. We experimented with the SRTM data as describe in this post and created this model:
