first thoughts about this episode:
oh my god ash and go are cute no matter what they’re doing! the way they’re having a nice convo in the morning, and even fighting (not raising their voices really, but making slight jabs and getting short with each other, but working towards a goal and having to hold onto that grudge) is interesting, too! they’re both surprisingly level-headed, and trying to keep up the childish shtick when they’re really not that angry at each other after only a few moments. i’m not quite sure what it is, but i’m highly enjoying this. they’re both not wrong or right, they’re just different kinds of people.
go being unathletic while ash is just a mankey in human form is fun! i’m sure the tables will turn in the second half, now that ash has helped go and seemed the more capable one at following the ivysaur
i can see what the writers meant about being careful with writing go to make him likable. i think he’s got some friendship hangups, which should be interesting to explore more in the future!
THE MUSIC!! it’s so different, i’m not used to it in pokemon anime but i’m welcoming the change with open arms. it’s good, i love the track that plays when ash and go follow the ivysaur.
yeah, i’m really interested in ash and go’s dynamic you guys! it’s really fun so far! i didn’t expect to enjoy their little arguments, but they’re writing this episode really smart by making them reveal some new character traits or interesting points of view that span from the argument.
also the conflict they have seems to directly relate to exactly how you deal with wild and caught pokemon and study them? as subjects or friends! and that seems to absolutely have to do with ash’s journey to becoming a pokemon master! i can’t wait to watch more down the seasons and discover how they explore more of this via ash and go!
S&S MX003 // Nancy Shon
Happy new year! Sorry, we’ve been in hibernation and catching up on life on our end, but some exciting things coming up! Stay tuned. For now, live from Honolulu, HI (literally, even though she’s based in NY now) is Nancy Shon and her super chilled out mix. Listen after the jump, complete with track list.
SS003: Wooden Temple // Vezzen
We’re proud to release our third cassette, Wooden Temple, from Vezzen. This is Vezzen’s ambient album to precede his forthcoming album with Lightsleepers. While mostly devoid of his characteristic slaps, Wooden Temple still bumps with brooding mood and texture. On tape this album sounds even better so cop one today at spacexsound.bandcamp.com or store.spaceandsound.org. Listen to the track Rays At Dawn and see more pics after the jump.
