Ice Climbers
Fun, overall. I use them a lot in PM when I wanna cheese with grabs. Of course it’s not as cheese as wobbling, but it gets the job done.
They feel a lot like Luigi. Low traction, low air speed, floaty, grapplers, even their side B is like the cyclone.
IKE!
Ike is a character I don’t play and I’ve also never played a Fire Emblem so... yeah.
I do know Ike in Smash 4 has gotten buffed a lot through patches and he can actually be scary instead of just Ganondorf with a sword
There’s also a Specter Knight mod for him that looks pretty cool
Ness
Ness was a cool character in 64 but I didn’t know anything about Earthbound before unlocking him
I used to play Ness in PM because his double-jump-cancel shenanigans made him really fun and technical.
I play him in Smash 4 sometimes but only against CPUs. I would never subject a human being to Smash 4 Ness.
Luigi!
Luigi was that one character I could never figure out how to unlock in Smash 64 even though I obviously knew he was in the game because he’s in 1P Mode.
Melee/PM Luigi is very fun because he has the best wavedash. You go so far. So fast. Melee matches with Luigis are always fun to watch.
Anyway I didn’t really start playing Luigi in any game until Smash 4, after he was nerfed, sadly. I think he’s a cool character, he’s basically a grappler in that game.
Mister GAME and WATCH
Next to Dr. Mario, I thought Mr. Game & Watch was the coolest inclusion in Melee. I knew about him because I had one of the G&W Gallery games and when I unlocked him it was like “holy shit fucking incredible” except not those words because I was like 10
I think the novelty of that reveal has worn off since he’s been in the last two Smash games but he remains a cool and unique character nonetheless
I don’t play him a whole lot but dthrow-Judgement is always fun
What I don't get about the Wii Fit Trainer being included in Super Smash Bros. is that I can't possibly see her beating the crap out of characters like Bowser.
What, is she going to be like, "Yo, watch out Koopa King, my warmed up muscles and awesome stretching are about to whoop your ass"?
