Snape's first question to Harry about wormwood and asphodel was not just a potions question, but a message, which in the language of flowers meant "I bitterly regret Lily's death". Harry never gets the message behind the question, but what if Hermione does, years later? Mostly set during HBP, DH and after. A story about Occlumency, the Language of Flowers, and different kinds of love. Slow-burn, no underage. Not canon-compliant, but canon-inspired. Finally! My long-belated fic is finally here, about a year and a half after I thought I would start posting. 😅 It’s been a very long and wild ride to get to this point.
