My fanart of apsaraqueen 's Love And Sleep fanfic for the Sailor Moon Senshi & Shitennou Mini Bang 2018.  * I’m living one of my oldest fandom dreams thanks to one of my top fav writers to boot I kid you not.  @apsaraqueen   ^3^  *

Then I scheduled this post ages ago together with the Revenant one and tumblr ofc didn’t publish one of the two. THANKS TUMBLR. NOT. :,)

ANYWAY in spite of this blue hellsite while Revenant was a joy to art for because Japanese Maple Fall Leaves Viewing Bonanza + Matsuri Ambiance setting, the first chapter of Love&Sleep features Silver Millennium Mongolian Setting flashback hence Evocative Landscape! Folksy/Ethnic/Period Clothing With A Twist! Winter-Transitioning -To-Spring vibe! And I love clothes and period pieces. Both in tone and aesthetics it was a very up-my-alley complementary combo. Thank you yet again my lovely MiniBang lady partners and @ssminibang mods :*

In total much fangasm was had all around and it made my beginner’s efforts at colourizing with a tablet much more enjoyable <3   and don’t forget to check out the Bang’s collection at AO3 via the link at the top :D

Welcome to the Senshi & Shitennou Mini Bang 2018!

Oh my gosh, you’re here! Welcome, welcome, welcome to the second Senshi & Shitennou Mini Bang! 

This year we’re doing a traditional version of a Bang, as opposed to a reverse (like last year), but don’t even worry about it, because the principles and goals are totally similar: an inner senshi and a shitennou featured in both Fic and Art, lots of fun collaboration and, hopefully by the end, a ton of new creative fan material to celebrate and spread our love of all things Sailor Moon - the only difference this time is instead of Art inspiring Fic, it’s the Fic that inspires the Art! (We’re thinking we’re going to be alternating between the two each year). 

We’ve got plenty to share with you... so much so, in fact, we’re not really sure where to start...  ^ω^;;

We’ve got a theme this year, so that’s really cool! And we’re going to have Beta sign ups (we learnt from last year! We need more Betas!!) We’ve also extended the general length of the event to give both Authors and Artists some breathing space, and to compromise, we’re permitting the release of WIPs (so no more desperately hiding your secret Art/Fic from the world when you’re in need of motivation and support from those in your community). We’ve also got a Discord channel up and running to make sure communication is even easier.

So let me get this right: Authors will choose a prompt from the Theme and prepare a fic with it, choosing the characters/pairings and all, only once they prepared it Artists will have the chance to pick wich piece they wanna work on. They'll make a claim on said fic and start making their art on it? I

Not quite, but close! There is no obligation to choose a prompt, they’re just there as offerings for those who want them, as inspiration if you will. 

The only limitations of the Author are that their fic would need to be a minimum of 3,500 words (no max), it would need to feature at least one Inner Senshi and one Shitennou (no need to make them a couple, or even friends, but they can if they want to), and the fic should somehow fit under the theme of “Autumn” (it can be as literal or metaphorical as the Author likes). 

Sign Ups end this Sunday, Authors then have a week to come up with a 50 word summary of the fic they intend to write. They fill in a form with that summary and include additional details like warnings/ratings, characters featured, genre, timeline etc. Once all the fic summaries have been submitted to us, Artists will go through an anonymous claims process where they choose which fics they would like to work on. It is operated on a first-come-first served basis, so not all Artists will get their initial choice, but everyone should be reasonably happy by the end (we ask Artists to choose several options). 

After the claims process, the Author starts to get to work on their Fic (they have until the first week of October to finish) and the Artist draws something to complement it (same deadline). It’s meant to be a sort of collaborative process. 

The Artist has a lot of creative freedom. They can draw something that’s inspired them in the fic as it’s being written (such as some good dialogue or a particularly vivid scene) and/or they could work on a sort of ‘cover’ to introduce the work. If the Author is struggling to nail down some of their more definitive points, or they know there might be certain sections which they’re going to edit substantially, the Artist might avoid those and use the general tone, the fic summary, or another part of the fic as their inspiration. 

The minimum required number of pieces for Artists is one, but there’s nothing stopping them from producing more if they’re willing to do so.

Just a question. I have an ongoing universe where i'm working with shitennou in "normal" lives. As such i gave them each a name and an occupation. Is it ok to use elements from that universe?

Using elements from another verse is fine, so long as what you write can be read as a stand alone Fic (i.e. doesn’t need to be read in conjunction with previous fics in your verse in order to understand all major, and almost all minor, plot details).
