W I C Tips

bc we just had a WIC customer at the store today, i wanna share a few tips for people on WIC to make the cashier and store and your life easier.

1. ALWAYS BRING that yellow packet thing with you every time you use a wic check, we can’t take your check without it

2. always make sure that the items you’re buying for the check match what is on the check EXACTLY, same brand, same size, everything

3. check the date on the check

4. if you buy nonwic items or are using 2+ checks, group the items together on the belt, please (like put all the items for 1 specific check together, then the next check, or if you have nonwic items put the wic items first and all together)

5. please don’t go to the express with wic items if you can, sometimes it takes a very long time to sort out an order.

6. always tell the cashier you have a wic order as soon as it’s your turn because at least in my store they need to tell the computer in the register that its a wic order before they scan anything in order for it to work.

7. bring a pen OTL because sometimes the cashiers don't have pens available

Unfortunately I have no idea how WIC works at a self checkout machine though.

Also, it’s pretty fucked up that your bosses don’t give you pens??? Your job fucking sucks, TBH
