This month is probably my favourite out of the three autumn months. Halloween probably has a huge role in it. Even though we don’t have it traditionally in Hungary (we have something quite similar in February, called Farsang), Halloween decorations are everywhere, not to mention that my generation integrated it into our lives quite well, plus it apparently is a thing in the UK.
Apart from that, I just prefer this colder weather when I can wear my favourite pullovers and drink as many hot drinks as I want.
In September I fulfilled one of my dreams finally: I bought some manga in Japanese. It was quite a big dream of mine to own some volumes in their original language. So I finally went to JP Books in London and got myself two volumes. This level is way beyond of what I can understand, but at least they are good motivational tools to keep myself pushing.
But back to languages, I think September okay-ish. I did WaniKani every single day, which was really great, but I’m a bit behind with the other stuff. I decided to switch back completely to Genki, as it is more relevant to the test I’m taking in December. My plan was to finish Lesson 8 in the book, well, I’m half-way through Lesson 7… so I wouldn’t say that went to well. I also realised that I’ll have to learn more vocal and find a way to practice listening.
So my very ambitious plan for October is to get through not less than 4 chapters of Genki I. It’s a big commitment -especially if I consider the fact that I’m starting classes tomorrow -, but I sort of have to if I want to pass the exam.
Also, when I was in JP Books I got a practice book for JLPT N5 and N4. It’s filled with questions similar to the original test, and on the back of the page I can find a solution as well.
I hope everyone is doing fine!
