Prayer for Procrastinators on the Feast of Saint Expeditus

I’ve done it again, Lord.

I’ve missed another deadline.

Why can’t I ever be on time?

Imagine if Noah had pulled an all-nighter

or the Magi had put off making travel plans—

I guess if salvation had depended on me,

your will would never be done!

But you also chose the less punctual to show your glory:

Jonah, the ultimate procrastinator,

and the infamous stragglers who wound up first.

Yet, Lord, I know that now is the time

and today is the day of salvation.

So help me do what needs to be done—

today and not tomorrow.

Keep me focused on the path—

looking ahead and not behind.

With the help of Saint Expeditus

and all who patiently wait for me,

teach me to order the chaos of my day,

that each moment may be spent wisely

in timely service to you.

Amen.

The first blend of the day, created during the hour of Mercury. This is a devotional mix made from sustainably harvested White Frankincense Neglecta, a few sparse pieces of resin laden Boswellia bark, black cardamom, and rose petals.

Hiii I want to nominate St Expeditus because it came to my mind when seeing something on the street about him :v

He is the patron saint about urgent causes so people pray to him in their most desperate moments and after it they put on the road/street some posters saying 'thank you'

'Thank you St Expeditus for the favors received'

Also some people build little huts(?) chapels(?) by the side of the road too, with his image and some flowers.

And his patronage extends to students and sailors and revolutionaries and and against procrastination

St Expeditus will be added to the folk/traditional saint list!

This is his first nomination so keep voting for him!!

If you’re planning on ordering anything to prepare for St Expedite’s feast day, which delightfully falls on a Wednesday this year, this is your reminder that it’s about a month away at this point.

I refuse to be caught off guard a second year in a row and wish to help you avoid the same. I just ordered the last of the incense supplies I want that I know I can’t grab locally.

I was jotting down important magical and religious days in my planner, and I wish you could have seen my face when I noticed that the Feast of St Expedite falls on a Wednesday this year. I’m going to make so much incense.

I couldn’t ask for a more loyal ally during the most turbulent times of my life.

The speed and precision with which he solved my most recent dilemma seemed almost like he was challenging me over how long I’d waited to put him to work on it. I look forward to our continued relationship and the nicer altar space he’s been promised in the new apartment, just as he earned his current place in our home by helping to secure our last.

(He’ll be getting pound cake, I promise, this is just the earlier photo form when I petitioned him. The public praising couldn’t wait.)

Ave Expeditus

I was hesitant to petition him again, but for now my fears are assuaged. My practice and religious leanings have skewed even more heavily towards entities Christian spirits might not approve of since the last time I called on him, but he still hasn’t failed or refused me.
