I have an ask sitting in my inbox that I’ll be getting to when I can give it more attention, so my apologies to the sender on the delay there!
Hey I was wondering what your view on luciferianism is? I know a lot about theistic satanism (as one myself) and the horned god but not much on Lucifer.
That's a bit of a complicated question! I'll try to keep things brief so I don't end up writing you an essay, but I welcome any follow up questions if there's something I didn't go into/cover/explain.
My view on Luciferianism as a whole is that it's a very vague label. It can encompass a lot of beliefs, both theistic and atheistic (as with Satanism). In the past, I made myself this working definition.
Luciferianism is a religion or system of belief held by those that appreciate and strive to embody the traits typically associated with Lucifer as Lightbringer, such liberation and rebellion over blind faith and obedience, and a pursuit of knowledge or enlightenment. It can be theistic or atheistic, and typically involves an equal appreciation for the arts and science. Incorporating the occult or some form of magical practice is common among theistic Luciferians, but not a requirement.
How people then choose to put those concepts into action can vary wildly. For example, I'm personally of a belief that a focus on liberation, rebellion, a rejection of dogma, and a pursuit of higher understanding of the world around us should lead people to be more socially minded and aware of how many bigotries and biases are built into our cultures and our day to day exchanges. Meanwhile, many people who fall under the vague LHP umbrella (Luciferians, Satanists, etc) will regurgitate militantly evangelical talking points with a coat of black paint, use their animosity towards Christianity as an excuse to be Islamophobic and antisemitic, have incredibly homophobic or transphobic attitudes, so on and so forth. Everyone wants to think they have the actual enlightened truth, you know? I don't think Luciferians are any more or less immune to conspiratorial thought and systemic bigotry than the rest of the population.
I'll also give a quick list of what I (personally) think Luciferianism is not, or at least doesn't have to be, since there's some trends I see in discussions about it that I don't particularly like.
Inherently better or more thoughtful than Satanism. I often see the two described in contrast/opposition to each other, with the idea being that one focuses on the philosophical while the other trends towards being more carnal. I feel like the way they're compared gives an overly simplified view of both, and I don't like that I tend to see it written with the implication that Luciferianism is the more noble set of beliefs. I have my quibbles with LaVeyan Satanism especially, but they're far more to do with the writing that helped inspire it and how I see that put into practice by the Satanists I've known.
Automatically hostile towards other religions. This truly exhausts me. I think the harm that religious groups that have a massive amount of political or social power can inflict on individuals, communities, and even countries cannot be understated. However, I far too often see this devolve into animosity towards the very concept of that religion or the religious individual instead of examining what this says about power, control, corruption, the protection of abusers within their communities, and other important aspects of the issue.
Inherently demonic, infernal, edgy, and so on. I know this is a bold claim coming from me, given my personal aesthetic, and I have often been quietly irked by the Luciferians who try to push too hard in another direction and reject the concept that anyone should approach Lucifer as anything but a love, light, and knowledge Jesus alternative. However, I think a lot of people cling to the idea that a concept, deity, or style of magic needs to be appropriately "dark" enough to be incorporated into Luciferianism. The end result is a lot of appropriation from closed practices and very samey books or talking points.
If you wanted to take a look at some of my thoughts in great detail, I have a bunch of posts tagged as 30 Day Luciferian Challenge. Some of the links between them don't work since they were written before I changed my blog name, but I try to keep the tagging as coherent as possible. I stand by what I wrote (so far as I can remember) so they're a closer look at questions like who Lucifer is to me, what drew me to Luciferianism, my thoughts on the community, advice I'd give, that kind of thing.
what's your favourite food to eat in a deconstructed way? not like 'fancy michelin restaurant deconstructed' way but more 'me unraveling a surimi stick like an ancient scroll and eating it like it's being fed into a paper shredder made of flesh' way
This might be what finally gets me bullied off of Witchblr, but I’ll share anyway.
Pie. I eat the edge of the crust, and then the top of the crust, and then the filling and bottom together as if it’s a pumpkin pie type of situation. Pies without a top crust, like the aforementioned pumpkin, still get the edge removed first. I used to eat the remaining triangle back to front so I always had the last bite be the center-most bit, but now I’ll mix it up and sometimes go front to back.
It’s borderline ritualistic and I apologize to anyone who’s witnessed it.
I think it comes from the same part of my brain that compels me to eat hamburgers around their edge until there’s a perfect core. Removing the subpar bits until the ideal ratio of filling to crust (or burger and toppings to bun) remains.
I think the thing I look most forward to about turning 30 next year is I’ll be of Hag Age as per the requirements of @graveyarddirt’s Hagging Out activities.
I am opening up commissions!
Whether you'd like a sigil painting like those above, or some other type of work, please feel free to message and inquire.
Sizes vary, with 24"x24" being the smallest.
Commissions are open again! I'm opening this up to more diverse work as well: -Logo Design -Tattoo Design -Illustrative Work
I just finished working with Sil on the first of three sigil commissions I hope to get, and I’m very happy with the result. If you’re someone who wants new symbols and iconography for your spirits and deities, and to support an incredible artist and runesmith in the occult community, look no further.
I was happy to use Sul’voth as a jumping off point, since I’ve been a big fan of the Dirokvul for a while now, but they made it clear that other designs were possible.
Since I know what a torturous mess the second hand market can be for occult books, I decided to pick up a copy of The Green Mysteries once I saw it was actually shipping out.
I can confirm it’s actually green, but a shade that is immediately washed out by the camera and doubly so if you put a filter on it. In person, it’s slightly darker than the above. The yellowish shade I’ve seen floating around is likely due to lighting or an after effect.
I have not yet read it, so I cannot tell you if it’s worth the cost. I made the choice to purchase it despite the book’s rather turbulent release because I know I care a good deal about occult herbalism in my practice, and because I’m especially fond of Schulke’s previous writing on the subject. I’m also jaded to overpriced books, given the Canadian exchange rate and that I’ve had to import or buy second hand the majority of my collection.
I’d you’re someone who doesn’t want to support Daniel Schulke after the incredible delay that was faced, or even Three Hands Press as a whole, I certainly empathize. Watching the situation from the outside has made me incredibly wary of any future preorders, much in the same way that being told horror stories about order fulfillment from other publishing companies means I’ll only ever buy certain texts from trusted resellers to ensure they arrive.
For myself, I’m glad I managed to get a copy before it became too expensive to justify. While a lot can be said about knowingly and willfully succumbing to FOMO, there were a good many years where I had to pass up limited releases due to financial instability, so having the security to treat myself to an overpriced paperback is very comforting.
For anyone in a similar boat, I ordered mine from Barnes & Noble on the Friday we were told Amazon copies had started shipping, and it arrived today. While I’d typically prefer to support smaller bookstores, there were none local that carried it, and the big name made me confident I’d either receive the book or a prompt refund should something go wrong.
The first blend of the day, created during the hour of Mercury. This is a devotional mix made from sustainably harvested White Frankincense Neglecta, a few sparse pieces of resin laden Boswellia bark, black cardamom, and rose petals.
Second blend, and some bourbon as offering.
This one is a powder I wanted to make in advance during the Feast Day, which may later be combined with joss or makko powder to make it self-burning. I have also considered trying my hand at making cones.
This one is intended for spell work. The majority of it is sustainably harvested Mexican copal and benzoin sumatra. It also includes powdered sandalwood (as sandalwood incense is my typical weekly offering), cinnamon, clove, all spice, cayenne pepper, and bay leaf. The result is a lovely spiced vanilla scent.
I’m pleased with what I managed to get done this year, and look forward making Feast Days and my more personal holy days a more active part of my crafting.

Time for some last minute grocery shopping before the incense crafting begins.
The resin based blend will be made during the hour of Mercury, while the powder will be during Jupiter’s.
Sometimes I remember how many of my old posts have links to other posts of mine that are doubtlessly broken as hell after my blog name change, but I’m not sure I have the drive to go through and edit them.
Putting the occluded in occult I guess.
Also holy shit @jbird-the-manwich is back and he's trying to be less saucier than ever!

EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT LILITH
Lots of people are interested in Lilith, and understandably so: she’s fascinating! Unfortunately this interest often leads to a lot of cultural appropriation, misinformation, and even antisemitism, so here’s a quick (ok… medium) rundown of everybody’s favorite mythological femme fatale:
WHO IS LILITH?
The most central and most popular story of Lilith comes from a midrash, a Jewish Rabbinical text designed to fill holes/answer questions within Jewish teachings. Lilith was the world’s first woman, created alongside Adam from the same clay. Adam insisted that Lilith must “lie beneath him” (either literally during sex or figuratively through general submissiveness, depending on your translation/interpretation) but Lilith refused, asserting they were equals. When both sides refused to relent, Lilith spoke a sacred name of Gd and took flight, choosing to leave the Garden of Eden completely rather than stay and be subjugated by Adam. Here her role shifts to something traditionally more “villainous:” she becomes the mother of demons, corrupted seductress of human men, consort to Samael, and an explanation for infant mortality. Sometimes “big” Lilith (Demon Queen, demon mother) and “little” Lilith (succubus, baby killer) are separated as two different sheydim, but usually she’s treated as just one singular figure.Â
It’s easy to see why a figure like this would scare the shit out of a patriarchal society. Lilith was considered a threat to Jewish survival, killing babies, corrupting the women and emasculating the men. Her image scared people of all genders into submission. However, Lilith’s image has undergone a feminist shift in recent decades. While many Jewish communities to this day still perceive her as a totally evil active threat, she can also represent a more nuanced look at what Jewish femininity means, how a patriarchal society pushes and twists the narratives of Jewish women, standing up for ourselves even if we’re viewed as monstrous, and even bodily autonomy, sexual freedom, and abortion rights.
One thing to clear up right away- traditionally, Lilith is NOT a goddess. She is a sheyd, or a Jewish demon. While she often gets absorbed into the Wiccan goddess archetypes and conflated with other entities who ARE considered deities in their respective religions, Lilith was never considered a goddess herself in Jewish tradition. You will sometimes hear the claim that she was a Sumerian goddess that Judaism “stole” and demonized (we’ll come back to this) but the credibility of this take is….dubious, at best. Likely the class of Sumerians called the lilit/u helped influence her depictions, but there’s no evidence to suggest a singular Sumerian goddess figure named Lilith. Her stories come from texts exclusive to Judaism that are not shared with other Abrahamic religions. Her Â
CULTURAL APPROPRIATION
The fetishization of Judaism (and Lilith in particular) within ceremonial occultism and a new wave of New Age, goddess-focused spirituality created a perfect storm for Lilith to be picked up and flown away with. As you can imagine, Lilith is a deeply complicated figure, and most of those conversations are internal ones within the context of Judaism. Most of the time, Lilith gets reduced to nothing but a spooky sexy #BossBabe bone-thin white woman with absolutely zero nuance or self awareness. She’s the occult world’s imaginary goth girlfriend. She is declawed, forced into goddess archetypes she was never made for, nonchalantly twisted into whatever entity goyim want her to be, then passed along with ahistorical misinformation about her origins.Â
This content then floods the market, making it extraordinarily difficult for Jewish people to find accurate, reliable information about figures from their own culture.
Even better, sometimes people will take the idea that Judaism “stole” Lilith to perpetuate antisemitism, talking about how Jews were/are “rabid monotheists” (a genuine quote I heard once,) how we must all just be so sexist and terrible, The Jews™ ruined Paganism, etc.
WHAT IF I WANT TO WORK WITH LILITH?
There’s definitely nothing wrong with learning ABOUT Lilith, recognizing her or believing in her, but if you want to work with her consider more open, respectful alternatives. She often gets conflated with Ishtar, Hekate, the Morrigan, Nyx. Maybe you’re a spirit worker and can look into succubi or the Sumerian liilitu. Look at WHY she interests you; have you been taken in by the goyiche allure of a declawed goth #BossBabe? Can you simply take inspiration from her stories and use it to reflect on yourself/think about it without worshipping her? If you HAVE to work with SPECIFICALLY her, why? Are you willing to go through the proper channels and convert?
As always, please feel free to ask me any questions and I’ll do what I can to help!Â

Four little seeds all in a row. 🌾💀🌾
I want to extend a warm congratulations to those of you who have been stuck in pre-order hell waiting for the Green Mysteries for so many years. Against all odds, it looks like it’s actually being shipped out.
Feel free to use this post as a voucher to give one free embittered “I told you so” to the non-believer of your choice.
I honestly thought they would never get it.
I’m not going to comment on the chad Schulke vs the virgin George RR Martin, because it took six years past the projected release date with no explanations, but hey, I hope the book lives up to y'alls expectations.
I am still waiting for Amazon to ship my copy. They promise me delivery on Friday. In the meantime, someone put a video of the hardcover edition on the Amazon book page. It appears to be an herbal dictionary with essays and some color plates. Looks pretty but it is worth $80 for a paper edition? We shall see. (My copy costs $30….)
What a great deal!
I will admit, there’s a part of me who wants to try and hunt down a copy before the second hand market gets too egregious. I was joking about how frustrating my FOMO about it was for years, even when it was still up in the air if we’d ever see the book.

I realized I have a lot of small collections in the studio that never get to be seen. I’m trying to change that so, here is one of them. Little dishes, little trays, texture inspo for days. Almost all were found in antique stores, except the slate pentacle, which I printed here in the studio. The sticker is a special one I like to include in larger orders. ✨ Happy Moon Day 🌖✨
