Antonia played the role of Chloe in the 2007 film St. Trinian's. In the film a British girl's school notorious for its delinquent student body is at risk of being shut down by the bank due to massive debt. The students band together to stage a heist of a rare work of art in order to raise the money needed to save the school.
Antonia's character Chloe is a member of the "Posh Totty" clique, a group of ditzy, sexually promiscuous schoolgirls who lounge about in lingerie doing their hair and nails and calling their boyfriends. Their role in the heist is to successfully participate in an intramural quiz bowl, gaining the girls access to the museum housing the painting where the final quiz bowl match will be held.
If you're not a Remedy or Bollywood fan, this is probably what you know Antonia from. This is the first role where she really got to show off her talent for comedy. She plays the airheaded Chloe over the top and campy in a way that suits the film perfectly. She doesn't have many big scenes since there's so many characters she has to share screen time with, but even when she's just hanging out in the background her expressions are always fun.
The film as a whole is profoundly ridiculous and childish, and it's filled with crude slapstick and potty humor. Still, if you can swallow the crassness it's pretty fun. Also since the Venn diagram of "Antonia Bernath fans by way of Emily Pope" and queer women is a circle, I should note that sapphic favorites Lena Headey and Jodie Whitaker star in this movie as well.
St. Trinian's can be streamed free on Tubi, or by purchasing or renting on Amazon Prime and YouTube. Multiple DVDs and a Blu-ray of the film are readily available for purchase. I've also created a video with just Antonia's scenes.
nothing on telly so the obvious answer is to watch a Colin Firth movie. Decided on St Trinian's, that way I not only get to drool over Colin but also enjoy the Kelly x Annabelle ship. (I'll just fast forward through the Russell Brand stuff)
