okay so in this shot after vol1, we can see Will lying, presumably unconscious, on the couch with his shoes dirtied. this is likely the day after the big confrontation with vecna.

what if instead of taking will physically, vecna takes him mentally? traps will within his own mind, and he’s in a coma-like state similar to max.

this mileven scene could be leading up to el using the makeshift sensory deprivation tank to search for will within his mind, like she tried with max.

we could get so much from a scene like this. both will’s hidden memories of the upside down, and el seeing some of his secrets, too.
